I got this for my 5year old son for our upcoming trip. It's been keeping him so busy. He loves the games and his 2year old sister loves listening to her favorite songs on it. For some reasons, I thought it was complicated to use but my kids thinks otherwise, they have no troubles operating it . I might be getting another one for my girl, they both always fighting over it.

Great for kids but no true volume limiter

Got this for my 6yo so she could listen to 'her music' on long trips since we travel a lot (it doesn't matter that it's the same music we are listening to haha). She loves it! We have had it for almost a year now and it has gotten lots of use. It can hold plenty of music for her and she even enjoys the few games that come on it. Battery life is awesome and it charges quickly.

I guess they have changed the listing since I bought but I remember reading it had a built-in volume limiter, which is one of the reasons I picked this one over another mp3 player. However that is a half-truth. It technically DOES have a volume level limit option, but all it does is give a warning that you hit the volume limit, then as soon as the warning goes away you can continue to increase the volume. I wanted this over headphones with volume control because my daughter tends to break or misplace her headphones (because, you know, she's 6) and I like being able to use any headphones we have laying around.

Regardless I still love this mp3 player!

This is definitely a cool mp3 player for kids. It works well, and the sound quality is great! Because the style looks like it is for younger kids, I bought it for my 7 year old grandson who loves, loves, loves music. However, he will definitely need a little help understanding how to use it, and how to download music to it. I recorded a message on it saying "Merry Christmas from Nana & PawPaw" before I wrapped it up for Christmas to surprise him. He'll enjoy it for months/years to come.

I've been able to put a kid-friendly FM radio station and he loves being able to talk to his mom and leave messages. We've also downloaded some of his favorite songs and he loves to walk around listening to them. There's also comes with some fun games for them to play. I'm very happy with this and most important my grandson loves it!
