About this item
MORE POSSIBILITIES - The longest available Thunderbolt 3 cable with 40Gbps speed and USB 3.1 compatibility. Supports data transfer speeds four times faster than standard USB-C cables. 40Gbps bandwidth allows dual 4K@60Hz video (or single 5K@60Hz) outputs and up to 5A/100W charging capabilities when used with compatible systems and Thunderbolt 3 accessories.
COMPATIBILITY - Thunderbolt 3 40Gbps Cable is Thunderbolt, USB & DisplayPort Alt Mode compatible. Compatible with your Thunderbolt 3 enabled Apple Mac (MacBook Pro Late 2016, 2017, 2018, MacBook Air 2018 & iMac Late 2017, 2018) and Thunderbolt 3 Windows PCs like the Dell XPS, HP Spectre, and Lenovo Carbon X1 series, and non-Thunderbolt USB Type-C systems. Incompatible with Qualcomm QC 3.0 and other (non USB-compliant) technologies.
STREAMLINED PRODUCTIVITY - Daisy chain up to 6 Thunderbolt devices including docking stations, external graphics cards, and displays. 40Gbps speed cables are suitable for eGPU and dual 4K display scenarios. Thunderbolt 3 peer-to-peer 10Gbit networking supported.

Not Just a Thunderbolt 3 Cable
Thunderbolt 3 brings data transfers at speeds up to 40Gbps over USB-C, enabling a superset of standard USB-C to truly become one compact port that does it all—delivering the fastest, most versatile connection to any dock, display, or data device.
For the first time, one port can connect numerous Thunderbolt devices, any display, and billions of USB devices (additional adapters may be required). Thunderbolt 3 cables are primarily used for connecting docking stations, high performance data storage solutions, peer-to-peer networking, and more.
Note: This cable is incompatible with Qualcomm Quick Charge and other (non USB-IF Power Delivery) “Fast Charge” technologies.
The Plugable TBT3-40G80CM cable is foremost designed as a Thunderbolt 3 cable, but it is also a universal USB-C cable for use with USB-C computers, phones, tablets, docking stations, accessories, and more. It supports all USB-C cable features, including USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 data lines, wire gauge supporting up to 5A charging via the USB-IF PD (Power Delivery) standard 100W max (5V-20V), and support for reporting its capabilities as an electronically marked cable.
A Cable That Does It All
1.6ft / 0.8m long
40Gbps Thunderbolt 3
Dual 4K 60Hz video output or single 5K outputs
Thunderbolt 3 peer-to-peer 10Gbps networking
Supports up to 5Gbps transfer over USB-C 3.0 hosts and devices
Wire gauge and electronic marking support up to 5A charging (5V-20V, 100W max)
Cable supports previous USB generations such as USB 1.1, USB 2.0, and USB 3.0
Massive 40Gbps Bandwidth
Because the cable is designed for Thunderbolt 3, it is also capable of supporting data transfer speeds four times as fast as standard USB-C cables. The available 40Gbps bandwidth allows for dual 4K 60Hz video outputs (or a single 5K output) and up to 100W (20V, 5A) capabilities when used with compatible systems and Thunderbolt 3 accessories. Please note for USB-C usage this cable is limited to USB-C 3.0 (5Gbps).
The cable is electronically marked with an IC (sometimes referred to as an “e-marker”) to assist in negotiation of charging rates and USB-C alternate modes like DisplayPort video.

This support Thunderbolt 3 - I needed it to be used with my eGPU It is one of the longer cables i could find (0.8m vs. 20-30cm) This is probably also the cheapest cable i could find that supported thunderbolt 3. Gets the job done, good quality cable, and great price. No issues from me.
Might just be mine that didn’t work? But when I got it, I tested it on a blackmagic micro converter and it wouldn’t turn on, so I thought maybe my device was broken. So I bit the bullet and bought a $65 Apple store one, and it worked straight away.. so either this was a faulty cable, or it’s not really thunderbolt rated..
Having multiple displays using thunderbolt cable worse thing if move the computer and the thunderbolt cable not study and the display refreshes. This cable solves that problem, bump the table or the computer, the Pluggable Thunderbolt 3 is study and therefore have the displays intact
Delivered very quickly. Thunderbolt cable marked as such so assume it will perform as expected. Glad I could purchase this online in Australia as my local big box electronic retailer had no idea why I would want a thunderbolt cable.
These are great affordable T3 cables that ive been using for over 6 months on various jobs. I now have hooked into a setup with various manufacturer hardware devices mostly external HDDs and everything connects. Ive now bought 2 x 2m cables for another setup i want.
This is the only cable other than the one supplied by LG that works with their monitors to not only provide full video, but also to support the built in USB Ports. I went through all the usual brands, Belkin etc. that all support video and charging, but didn’t work for the USB Ports.
This cable works and is far cheaper than the more famous and less functional alternatives
If like me you spent months and many wasted £a searching for a replacement for the LG Cable, your search is over!
I bought this to attach an external graphics card enclosure to my 2018 Mac mini. The Sonnet enclosure came with a lead that was 0.5 - far to short for where I wanted to have my set-up, so I bought this linger one. Works perfectly as far as I'm concerned and not as expensive as some.
