This book would be useful for someone abound start a career in nursing or mental health who has never worked in a setting like this before, isn't sure what clinical risk is or what to do. It is not a pocket guide or summary for anyone working in mental health because it is far too basic.
The key things that are missing in my eyes are a) more detail on understanding risks such as suicide and self-harm , and b) more about the management of specific types of risk rather than just a general structure for capturing all the information (I.e. The book essentially suggests the headings - who is at risk? What will you do? - rather than any guidance for informing this process).
Also there is next to nothing on risk to others (e.g. Children, family, dependents, public etc) or harm and exploitation from others.
