I genuinely did not like the first book of this trilogy, the second book I loved, and having now finished the last book in the trilogy I have ... mixed feelings. I should start off by saying that I do genuinely love this book, it brought me, quite literally, to tears (but then that could also be contributed by the fact I'm pregnant and was reading late into the night - I think I finished this book about 1.30am). I honestly think the reason I have such mixed feelings about this book as there are so many unexpected twists and turns that I genuinely didn't see coming. Most authors try and include at one surprise or a twist somewhere in their book and most aren't all that surprising or unexpected. Then you get this book written by Jaymin and Tate and while there are a few things you 'oh this is going to happen' or 'we're going to meet so and so' most of this book's twists and turns were so unpredictable and I either didn't see them coming at all, or I could never have imagined them coming to fruition the way they did. Well done Jaymin and Tate for delivering a book I could not have predicted on a good day (let alone when I have complete baby brain and am emotionally unstable due to hormones).

After that ending in book Playboy Princes I was seriously looking forward to Poisoned Thrones and damn did Tate and Jaymin deliver. Lots of action, lots of sexy times, lots of angst and drama and so much more.

Rafe is my favourite out of him and Jordan but damn did he become a major douche at one point and even Jordan too (well for a good reason anyway). Violet definitely has her hands full with these two and their Alpha protectiveness, but they still don’t hold Violet back.

This is one trilogy you don’t want to miss. I can’t wait for an omnibus with bonus content. I am undecided tho if I want a spin off with the twins to get their own books, but I would read them anyway.

After that cliffhanger ending of the last book, Playboy Princes, we pick right back up where we left off. Violet has already had a tough journey but in this last book of the series we learn more of her past and just how rough life has been. However is she able to fight through all of that and the political games she has found herself inadvertently drawn into, rescue Rafe and have a life with her, Jordan and Rafe together is the question.
I enjoyed this last book in the series, it took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and tension and I was thoroughly engrossed in the whole story. Five stars from me for the last book in The Royals of Arbon series. I'll miss the characters but I've enjoyed the journey I've been taken on.

I loved this series! The whole world setting of the series is incredible. The way the politics is set up and the history behind it all is so fascinating to me. Everything came to a head after the cliffhanger in the previous book and we get to meet the mind behind all of this. The final fight was incredibly satisfying to read, and I especially enjoyed the non-traditional ending.

As a side note, I really hope Mattie gets a spin-off book. I'd love to read more about her role in this political world and she's such a great character!
