Pop tarts are one of these American foods that we know from watching US TV shows. Naturally, I had to try them to see what all the fuss is about.
Firstly, they come in 4 sealed foil packs. So you're opening two tarts at a time. They are heated in your toaster. Use a quicker setting than you'd use for cooking toast. I use 2 on my toaster.
The tarts are a chocolate biscuit with a smear of, perhaps, heavier chocolate on one side, with a thin insert of a lighter chocolate inside. So they're not so much of a sandwhich, more a piece of chocolate "bread" with some chocolate spread on top.
I'm found them nice to eat. I wouldn't say they're amazing, but they're a quick treat to prepare when you want an indulgence.
I was never allowed to have Pop Tarts as a kid when they first starting becoming available in Australia.. I was always annoyed but now I am kind of thankful.
I was expecting something.. more.. I guess based on my exposure to the product in pop-culture, movies and the internet growing up.
The 'biscuit' I guess was okay, they were thin and burnt really easily in the toaster and the contents never really got 'melty' enough for me to enjoy them.. they felt dry and not even very strongly chocolatey (yes, that's the technical term).
I think it might be worth trying another flavour or two in the future.. maybe these chocolate ones aren't the best.. but I'm not in any rush.
i don't really like it the chocolate flavor. it's very slimey or liquidity chocolate flavor. i would think it's similar to waffle but it's really not. My kids are alright with it but i'm just okay. The only thing that i like is it got small nice packaging with 8 pastries in a box but 2 pastries in a bag.
OMG! Never knew such thing existed! It's awesome, especially in the cold weather. Quick toast, and it's burning hot with flavoursome chocolate! Amazing product, but be careful, it is really hot!
I am just questioning you need to put it on toastie? It will make the chocolate melt and dropped it in bottom. You can use oven and i use air fry and it is crunchy.
