Good for use with docking station

I got this product to go with the laptop docking station I was provided at work. By putting the laptop on the stand I can use it as a second monitor that is at eye level. Obviously the docking station comes with a keyboard and mouse - I wouldn't use this product without a separate mouse and keyboard. The stand folds down to a compact size which is useful if I want more desk space (I can put the stand away in a draw). I'm not sure how useful this stand would be for portable situations, carrying external keyboard around would defeat the point. Although I guess it could be good for passive computing tasks like watching videos or something.

Pros: Lightweight and looks really good. If you have a white desk then this is a winner. Can fold nicely if you want to take it around.

Cons: The 'stopper' parts which stop the laptop from sliding forward - one on each end of the leg are flimsy and fall off every time you move or bump it. Really cheap connection with the actual legs and could be much better design.

Overall: Not too bad, you get what you pay for but don't expect this thing to be a long term solution.

I got this because I do a lot of reading on my laptop (Macbook Pro Mid 2010) and I was finding it uncomfortable to look down at the laptop screen. I needed something to make the screen eye level. This did the trick. There are two hight levels so you can adjust to your preference. I use both, depending on the height of my seat. The stand is great in terms of quality and design. I would recommend.

My laptop doesn't open up more than maybe 115* so the fully expanded laptop stand points my screen too far down. Instead of having it fully expanded I placed a 10cm flat object between the two arms that rest on the table so that it collapses slightly and puts my screen at a better angle for me. This stand is either all the way open or all the way closed, no locking for in between but for this price, I'm not going to complain!

This has saved my neck already! I thought I'd be using a wireless keyboard but the slight incline of the keyboard has been nice on my hands as well (an unexpected bonus). It's the perfect little addition to my work-space :-)

Stand collapses on itself under the weight of a 15 inch laptop

Looks great but doesn't remain lock in place for long periods. The weight of my 15 inch laptop will cause the stand to collapse into its folded form. There is no option to lock the stand when fully extended; if there is then my product is defective as the red clips on the back does not lock. Very annoyed at how I need to reset the stand every hour.

At first I was disappointed that this wasn't metal as it appears in the pictures, I actually came to really like its plastic material because it's very light. Super easy to set up and holds the laptop at the perfect height. Only issue is that the red lock tabs don't seem to actually do anything, and the stand itself is only usable at one height. Would be MUCH better if it were truly adjustable. Overall though this was a good buy and I'm happy with it.
