    As part of my job I often have to give software presentations and demos, and that usually involves lugging a second monitor around with me in the car which is quite frankly a pain. It's a pain but has to be done as it's hard to get a number of people crowded around a single screen when giving a demo in a way that everyone can see what's going on. I wanted a neater and more portable solution and the Trio Max seemed to fit the bill for me for two reasons - it's small and light and offers the facility to add a third screen too, which is something that I can see be useful for presentation.

    Fitting the screen is pretty easy, thanks to the self-adhesive magnets - it's just a case of taking the backing paper off, lining it up and pressing down. It's a 3M adhesive so seems to be very secure so no chance of it falling off mid-demo thankfully!. The connection cable is included along with some simple instructions so it's not hard to get up and running. Once done it works exactly as a second monitor would, and you can either mirror the main screen or use it as an extended desktop etc. Quality of the screen is very good - as you can probably see from my photo it actually looks better than the laptop it's attached to in my eyes. I like the fact that if it's not needed I can just remove it easily to leave at home too, plus the fact that the magnets allow it to be turned around to operate in a portrait configuration if I need too.

    I've been impressed with this - not the cheapest option but boy it is better than lugging a separate monitor around in the car with me. It doesn't add too much weight or bulk to the laptop either - the whole thing hardly feels much different to carry when it's in the laptop bag.

    As an avid laptop user, i always find that i could do with an extra screen, however with a laptop the only way i knew of doing this was to have a setup at home on my desk with cables everywhere and a hub to share the image across one or more extra screens, most of the time this means that the extra monitors are oversized and you don't use your laptop monitor...such an annoying mess around and a waste.

    This setup however suits me down to a T, i now have an extra monitor that is attached to my laptop that i can use if and when i want to, If i need a quick job done, i open the laptop as normal, if i need a larger project that would be better on multiple screens, i pop the second monitor open and i'm away. The ability to just switch between one and the other is amazing.

    I do have to point out, you'll need to buy another one if you want the 3 screen setup as i think i'll be doing that soon myself hopefully. Although 2 screens is still a massive improvement.

    Usability wise, the setup is reasonably straight forward, you get a bundle of magnets so it can be installed on multiple laptops, these magnets fix to the back of your laptop screen and allows the mechanism to sit securely in place, yes this thickens the laptop, but it's a worthwhile trade off. There's also a clip included, this is for when i get my third screen...coming soon... It also has the cables you need to connect them up, although i may try and get a shorter version specifically for my laptop to try and tidy it up a little bit more

    All in however, it's a nice stylish setup that gives me more visibility when out and about without the hassle of a full desk setup.
