Getting ready to do extensive painting at my daughter's new house, I thought I would give these brushes a try. I have painted professionally in the past and done considerable DIY for myself and friends. I know the value of a good brush and routinely head to HD or Lowes for a good Purdy or Wooster and occasionally the best Walmart has to offer when I'm being lazy. Bottom line, I like these brushes better than any other I've used. You may hate them, but for the cost, how can you go wrong? For me, they make cutting in along ceilings and windows a breeze. They also seem to clean easier than other brushes. A dozen brush will last me a long time. I just hope I can find these brushes again when that time comes.
Great value for the price. I buy these as basically disposable as I hate cleaning brushes. I will use them two or three times as I am painting all the trim and doors in our house. They are the perfect size and hold up well for a couple of uses. Seem like they would hold up well even longer.
The handles are rough, sanded to prevent blisters. My project uses a water-based stain/sealer. It destroys natural brushes so these synthetic brushes seemed useful. I have used synthetic brushes with this stain and have been able to clean the brushes several times, but not these. I cleaned the brush immediately after use and thought it was ready for the next day's use. Nope, the brush was so gummed-up that it had to be trashed, hence the one-use title. Good thing I bought a case of these and hope I can complete the project in less days than the number of brushes in the box.
Bought these for a bunch of trim work I needed to do with oil based paint. I hate cleaning oil paint. So, at less than 2 bucks a brush, I just threw these in the trash.
For painting, they work very well. Not on par with my purdy brushes, but far better than other cheap brushes I have tried in the past. They did lose a few bristles, but maybe 2-3 per brush. Somewhat annoying, but manageable. I don't know how well they would clean, but would guess they would lose more bristles in that process - again, I bought these (and am buying again as I type this) with the intention of throwing them away.
Used this brush to paint casing around outside door. Very good results and brush angle helps getting into tight spots so I wouldn't get paint on vinyl siding. Used the same brush for three projects so far. Made sure it was washed well and dried. Would buy again.
These brushes are a great compromise between holding lot of paint and being able to make clean edges. And, they are light, easy to grip and the brushes stay soft so you can use them again. Also, the price is nice and cheap, so, when you are done, toss them out.
