PROS:
-value for money
-1080p native res seems to be true
-portable size, comes with carrying bag
-reasonably bright projection (indoors) given its price and size
-multiple ports available for different types of connection
-wireless, bluetooth and wifi both available
-sharp picture quality and colors are quite accurate
-decent built-in speakers
-user configurable picture and sound settings
-tripod mount (came with a free mini tripod)
-illuminated touch sensitive controls on top of the projector
-user friendly interface
CONS:
-focus and keystone wheels for adjustment could be better, kinda hard to turn the wheels given that it’s plastic, a rubber coating could improve it or a redesign
-the power plug cable is too short
-no horizontal keystone
-no information about lamp life, given that it’s LCD and not LED, I’m not sure how long this would last
-fan noise could be improved
-only hdmi and av cable was included
OVERALL:
I’m very happy and satisfied with this projector.
This is my first one so I did a bit of research before buying. Its features and price that made me choose this over all the other projectors in this category and price range. I also did search a lot before making a decision to buy this. What sealed the deal was the amazon discount of $30 at the time of purchase plus the additional $20 coupon from the seller, making this to only $130+ taxes. Sweet right?
But even without the amazon discount, you could still get the seller coupon making this available for about $160.
At that price, there is no comparison.
Most of the projectors with 1080p native res and wifi + Bluetooth connectivity start at $250. Some don’t even have wireless connectivity, so this one having BOTH is already a steal imo.
I have used all the ports except A/V, and they all work. This one also has 3 hdmi ports available!
Wireless connectivity is easy to do and set up.
I tried casting from my ios devices and they all work. Only issue is that there is some lag when using wifi, and some delay when using bluetooth for audio. It is still usable but if u want the smoothest playback and best quality, wired connection is the way to go.
You also cannot cast youtube, hulu, netflix, etc. due to copyright reasons. Instead, use a wired connection to be able to do that.
Also, all the ports are on the sides except for the vga which makes it possible to use this while on the bed and projecting it on the ceiling. But I would not suggest that.
Brightness is also quite good especially on dark rooms, but also usable indoors with some lights on.
Best picture quality would be achieved if you project this at a maximum of about 7-9 feet and the focus and keystone adjustments are done right and with a projector screen used.
MY ONLY MAJOR COMPLAINT IS THE SMALL SPECK ON THE TOP LEFT OF THE SCREEN as you can see on my last picture.
I tried cleaning the lens but it appears that it’s from the inside. It doesn’t bother me that much but a brand new projector shouldn’t have that.
With regards to the fan noise, I put it as a con because I can hear it when there is no audio playing, so when you’re trying to do a presentation it might be an issue for you. But if you plan to use this at home for movies, it’s not a problem, the built in speakers are loud enough to drown the fan noise.
In summary, I would highly recommend this to anyone that’s looking for an entry level projector.
It has good picture quality, decent speakers, multiple ports and wireless connectivity for a low price.
If you also use a streaming device such as an Amazon firestick or Roku, this would be the perfect setup to expand the capabilities of this projector.
***the video was taken with my table lamp on at 20% brightness, projecting on a porous white wall, no projector screen, hdmi connection was used. Audio is also from the projector at about 40%.
