The screen doesn't stay "flat" -> when projecting you'll notice a bubble/warp in the screen even when extended to the most upright position. However, it's the only 40 in tabletop model I could find, and it is more stable than reviews would have led me to believe. A book on the back leg offers additionally stability. The non-flat screen isn't perfect but is workable for presentations. If using for movies I might recommending projecting slightly larger so that the edges/borders where a vertical line is obvious aren't noticeable. To retract, pull up then slowly push down. It doesn't "retract" automatically. Used a pocket projector in testing and I think it made a difference in quality of projection. I dunno if a new one would have had a flatter screen...was saving $4-$5 worth it? Afraid I can't answer that, but overall, I'd say it's workable and as far as I could tell, cosmetically and functionally otherwise, it's like new.

This screen is the perfect size for small presentations or, in my case, camp site movies. It's "stand-bound" so there's nothing to hang it with, and it's not built like a tank, but then that keeps it light. It suites my needs perfectly, so I'm very satisfied.

Very happy with this purchase! It is on the small side, but that's what we intended to use it for! Look at my photos of with the screen and without screen. It makes a huge difference to the quality of the video

We hang it by using push pins on the wall and then just hanging it like a frame lol and remove it when not in use. This give us the flexibility to have a "TV screen" or not, which helps make the place look bigger too.

The first thing of note is the sturdy packaging of this item - no problems there. Unfortunately, that is the only sturdy item. The screen itself is very flimsy and unstable. The very inadequate "directions" say to pull the screen up and hook it onto the "gooseneck" at the top. The loop on the screen didn't come close to this cheap, plastic "gooseneck."
I used some strong wire to hold it together as I need it in a couple if days.
Have not tried it with slides yet - hope it is decent. Given the shoddyness of the product I don't expect much.
It is relatively light weight but the product is garbage.

I need a portable projection screen for demos. I've tried a few, and this one comes closest to being adequate.

Pros:
-Portable
-Bright image
-Relatively inexpensive

Cons:
-Wrinkles, distorting image
-Will retract if bumped unless opened to full (4:3) height

This is the second one I received. After finding the first wrinkle, I called their customer support and was told they had never received a report of wrinkles, so they were sure if I just returned and reordered I'd get one without the problem.

Not only was the second one just as badly wrinkled, it also won't stay open if I just pull it up to 16:9 dimensions.
