I have been a lover of quote books all my life and I have a large collection of various kinds of quote books. I purchased this one (The Quotable Book Lover edited by Ben Jacobs & Helena Hjalmarsson with a forward by Nicholas A. Basbanes) on Amazon for a bargain price.
This 241 page soft cover book is a fantastic volume of numerous kinds of quotes all focused on writers, readers, collectors and other lovers of the written word. This text is organized into ten sections and includes quotes on the following topics: In praise of books, on writing, autobiography and biography, reading, libraries, literacy, censorship and the destruction of books, publishing and publishers, literature and collecting books. There are quotes from a wide range of individuals such as Ernest Hemmingway, George Orwell, Ezra Pound, Woody Allen, Maya Angelou, William Faulkner, Thomas Jefferson and numerous other legendary people.
If you are a writer and a lover of books, especially quote books, this volume is for you. It is a keeper.
