To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
It has problems with white balance. Tried using different camera settings, but it did not help. The color is OK when the camera is used during bright daylight. With about 3000K color temperature lamp the color is (very) reddish. I bought Arducam with adjustable focus for cheaper and it does not have the white balance problem.
Only gripe is that there seems to be some color manipulation that messes with the original sensitivity. There should, e.g., be a significant difference in sensitivity of red vs green vs blue pixels around 800nm, with that light effectively appearing orange, but there isn't, it's white. Presumably they did this to make IR images have higher contrast and look less wonky, but it takes away some utility.
Not the cheapest or greatest picture quality, but the size and hole placement works with almost any Pi camera mount you find around here. It is night vision and the motion detection is so effective that you will need to tune its sensitivity down within the settings of whatever application you use it with.
I originally purchased the NoIR version and it wouldn’t even connect to my pi. I purchased the other version and it did connect but would not show any picture. I went into Terminal and did everything I possible could only to debug and find that the module was damaged. I will be returning both and purchasing from another seller.
