Quite disgusting and sad. Especially how Zoe (the main character is this story) has a bully called Tiner (I think that's her name), bullys are MEAN and poor Zoe has one. I really don't like the rat catcher (Bart) he is WAY to disgusting, so bad idea putting HIM in the book otherwise I liked how the dad used to work at a ice cream factory and used to make ice cream flavors I liked all the flavours (apart from snail and broccoli) so, that's it I hope youfound this review helpful bye! bye
i would give this book 5 stars because, there was some sad parts and some happy. i would say this is a good book for ages 10-11 because there are some disturbing bits like people being made into burgers. i thought the plot of the book was amazing. great read for adults to, David walliams is really a artist in bools.
The paperback version only includes B&W illustrations but it's still a great piece of storytelling. Personally it's not my favourite story from David Walliams but it's still equally absorbing and engaging to my 9YO and 7YO. The narrative is detailed without being too dense, and the plot continues at a pace without jumping around. Pitched perfectly and a joy to read to my kids, or for them to read when we take turns.
I myself, love David walliams sense of humour, and on reading the children's book granpas great escape also by Walliams which made me, my son, and daughter laugh and also a tear to my eye! We purchased Ratburger, again fully enjoyable, and fully invested our imaginations and empathy with the characters. The references and illustrations are really unique. Would recommend.
Such a funny book, my two kids love it. They love David Walliams books and this one is great. It is not too long and I would say perfect for 7 years up.
Another classic from David Walliams. His imagination is a wonder and his books are getting kids reading again. No wonder he is described as the Roald Dahl of our generation. Top read.
