I recently brought this mouse as I was already using a DeathAdder for 6 years already. So far this mouse has felt smoother and cleaner than my previous DeathAdder. It feels nice and the Razer Synapse lets you change a few settings such as DPI, and set up macros. Looking forward to using it for another 6 years.
Came is really good time, works perfectly, huge upgrade from my 2 Bluetooth Logitech mice, it's quick really smooth and the battery won't die !! Have a razor keyboard that's green too still same colour I think I have to set the mouse LED leven in the razor program though rather then a button. No regrets with this mouse
Good shaped mouse for my size of hand and grip style. I bough this for use with my laptop for FPS gaming sessions and based on the good fit and quality, purchased the more expensive Mamba Elite to use as my main PC's mouse. The Mamba does make the DeathAdder feel a bit more 'plasticky' but it's still a really good mouse. Good sensitivity, nice solid buttons etc. You do miss out on the DPI buttons on this one as well but the basics are all still present and correct.
If you're after a cheap but reliable gaming mouse, this is your ideal choice. If you previously had an older Razer mouse (e.g. 2013), you will require to install the newer version of Razer Synapse, which is a bit of a pain as it means I have 2 different version of Synapse to support my 2016 razer blackwidow and this deathadder. This will only be required if you need to alter sensitivity or apply macros.
I've had Deathadders for a good part of my life, even ignoring the bits where they tend to rapidly break and stop registering clicks, the ergonomic design, the nicely placed rubber pads, and the plastics used made for a very, very nice mouse which has lead to a customer of a decade or so.
However this new Deathadder Essential's feel is very plasticy, not the good, slightly grips your hand and makes you enjoy the experience kind. The kind you find in a couple of quid, nasty knock off mouse made for offices, enmass. The mouse too lacks weight, which has made it feel just as bad, and then probably the worst sin is the removal of the rubber grips on the side. Essential? Essentially rubbish.
Unfortunately I now have to go through the long winded process of refunding this, and trying to either find a DeathAdder which works for me (My previous was an Expert), or find another brand. It's sad to see this mouse, and sadder to have to use it.
The LED is bright though, so I suspect that's where all of the money goes into this thing.
