I recently purchased a new car with a premium sound system but no cd player. It was hard enough giving up records, so I am not ready to forego my cds for that compressed mp3 sound. I just did a test drive. Slightly bumpy road with the player angled at approximately 40 degrees in my covered center console area. Absolutely no problems. The sound presets sound great with my car's system, and I can still use the steering wheel button for volume and muting. I wanted the back lighting for night driving, but the buttons are small, so it will be necessary to be careful when driving and trying to adjust the player. I figure I just will make believe it is an eight track player and listen to the record from beginning to end. (Remember those players ?) So, stop looking; buy this player; and turn up the volume.
This portable CD player works just as well as the Sony Discman player I had 30 years ago. The CD player in my car stopped working recently and the cost of replacing it was outrageous. This player solved the problem. The sound and function of the player are just as good as any other CD player I've ever owned. The battery life on the rechargeable battery seems to be quite good.
The auxiliary input on my car stereo is a three-plug female RCA connector inside the center console between the front seats (like you'd see on an old VHS VCR). For stereo audio, you don't need the third (video) plug, so I purchased a two-plug male RCA to 3.5 mm male plug from Amazon. (This player comes with multiple types of cords, but this wasn't one of them.) The whole setup works great.
My only suggestion for improvement would be to make the Play/Stop/Skip buttons a little larger. When you're driving and trying to manipulate the CD player, it can be a little difficult to see which button you're pressing.
I used it no more than 10 times and one of headphones stopped working. It did not hold a charge for enough time to get through 2 discs. Now I am unable to charge it all! I have taken the appropriate ‘troubleshooting ‘ steps and still no good. When contacted, vendor was very reasonable and offered me a replacement or full refund. I chose a refund.
This is a nifty little device which is easy to use. It charged easily and overall it works well. But I had a problem with it. I am 71 and am willing to admit that my eyesight isn't excellent, but I have had problems reading the buttons on the display. It is a black player with white print but the print is not white enough. I am in my kitchen now which is very well lighted and I cannot read two of the buttons at all. I got especially aggravated when trying to operate it before going to bed with my glasses off. I haven't had problems with other items. Maybe I just got a flawed model, but I just cannot use it, so am returning it. Otherwise it is a neat machine, and worth the money if they correct the light printing problem.
Start with the good one ! it feels firm in the hand, buttons are tight and not loose feeling. sounds great and battery last forever from a charge. I love it. It is back lit, so at night when hubbys asleep I don't need to turn on a light to find a track I want. It is real clear to read. The first one ? the charger would not go in the hole that is was suppose to. My husband , being the muscle man he is :>) even tried . You had to fight it with all your strength. I knew it was bad. Contacted amazon on the return. Got a new one asap, as Amazon is known for , and this one charger hole is perfect. One soft touch and its in ! over all , would I recommend it ? absolutely !
This is my first portable CD player. I've always had a CD in my cars, but my new one does not have one. This product is great! Very easy to hook up in the car....just plug it in with the supplied cord. Plug in, turn on unit and it starts playing automatically. It remembers where it left off (I like audio books). I don't have a good place for the CD player to sit in my car, so I have it sitting up and there's no skipping....GREAT PRODUCT! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is a WONDERFUL product! I bought mine to have on hand after I had surgery so I could listen to music to help with pain control. The battery life is crazy long and the sound is great through the headphones I bought to go with it. You do need an adapter to be able to plug it into an outlet because it has a USB port. That was not a problem for me because I had an adapter to go with my phone. I would HIGHLY recommend this product! It is worth every penny. It sure beats changing batteries which isn’t cheap! It will provide you with many hours of listening pleasure.
I bought this cd player for my new car since the new cars no longer offer cd players. After initial charging I plugged it into my aux port and have been singing along with my music ever since. It has a few seconds hesitation before it plays but play it does.....horizontally, vertically or at any angle. Since I only play it in the car I can't judge the sound quality using earplugs and the charge has lasted satisfactorily so far. As a side note I lightly waxed the entire top with a non-smudge wax to eliminate potential fingerprints, and, I would like to find a holder somewhere to keep the player held in place. No matter....this player is a winner!
Update- 6/26/2020- this is terrible!! After using for a couple of weeks, I'm lucky if I get 30 minutes out of a charge and it has scratched the heck out of one of my cds and skips consistently now. Don't buy!! He is getting great review because he promises a free carrying case.
My 2018 Camry didn't come with a cd player, my son bought this for my birthday, I totally love it! It is very easy to use. I'm glad it has a shuffle and can hold your place. I've been using it everyday for a week and it hasn't needed charging yet, and drive a lot for work, so I spend alot of time in my car. It took alittle getting used to turn it off when you get out of the car as I wasn't used to having to turn something off in the car, except the engine! If you don't turn it off, it will keep running and waist battery life. I would definitely buy one again if needed.
