About the Author
Alice Waters, chef, author, and the proprietor of Chez Panisse, is an American pioneer of a culinary philosophy that maintains that cooking should be based on the finest and freshest seasonal ingredients. Over the course of nearly forty years, Chez Panisse has helped create a community of local farmers and ranchers whose dedication to sustainable agriculture assures the restaurant a steady supply of fresh and pure ingredients. Waters is Vice President of Slow Food International, and author of eight books, including The Art of Simple Food: Notes and Recipes from a Delicious Revolution, from which this selection is taken. She was awarded the French Legion d'Honneur in 2010. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Alice Waters philosophy plus some great recipes in a compactReviewed in India on 8 July 2016
Alice Waters philosophy plus some great recipes in a compact, pocket sized edition. No pictures, but a great way to get acquainted with the Chez Panisse way of cooking and eating

Alice Waters LiteReviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 June 2011
It was not made clear that this was merely a small compilation; If this is all there was to Alice Waters I cannot understand where her reputation came from. Pitched at a basic level, it offers nothing new; we appear to be back in the 60's. Waste of money
