Total rubbish and damages vinyl records

Awful kit that does nothing but add noise (crackles and pops) and micro scratches!
I should've known better than to expect this rubbish to work but stupidly I believed all the reviews on here?
My current collection of vinyl is all bought new recently and played on a £2000 turntable & cartridge so I know that's up to the job and all the LP's I've cleaned with this have got considerably more noisy on the quiet or silent parts!
I do not recommend this garbage. I'll be getting ALL my vinyl cleaned professionally from now on, especially the ones I've cleaned with this!

If you can afford to chuck £25 then buy it. Then what? Well you could look at it I suppose! For vinyl it adds dust! The brush collects dust and is difficult to remove. On top of that you need to be very careful as it is soooo easy to add scratches to your precious lp’s. DO NOT BUY

I will compare it to the original “Discwasher D4”. The original Discwasher had a directional nap to the fabric, allowing the nubs to clean into the grooves, scooping up dust and debris. The pad was flat side-to-side, allowing it to sit flat on the record, cleaning the full width of the album. I worked great!

Decades later, I am getting back into vinyl and was looking for a new record cleaner. I purchased the Big Fudge based on high sales and overall ratings. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box. The fabric has a directional nap, but inexplicably, the nap runs side-to-side, not front to back. In this configuration, the nap serves no purpose. The pad cleans only the surface, not into the grooves of the record. It is silly to even put a directional arrow on the side of the handle, due to the mis-oriented nap. It makes no difference which direction you use the pad

Worse, the pad is not flat side-to-side, it is arched, preventing the pad from sitting flat on the record. When cleaning, you have to rock the pad side-to-side to clean the full width of the record. What a joke.
As someone with an engineering background, this product looks like someone designed it to look like a record cleaner, with zero knowledge or concern to make a product that functions properly.

I returned this product and ordered the new “Discwasher D4+”, hoping to get an exceptional cleaner. Sadly, it is now just a re-branded Big Fudge, with all the same flaws.

My advice, if you want a proper record cleaner, avoid Big Fudge and the new Discwasher (Discwasher Vinyl Record Cleaning System - RD2007Z).
