Was looking for a spare charger for the new XPS 15 (9500) which uses a USBC 130W charger from the factory. This Llamatec 90W charger was the closest I could find to 130W. After making a couple of enquiries, William from customer support offered for me to try the product with my new laptop for a 20% discount, in exchange for providing some customer feedback about its compatibility with my model.
Answer: its compatible!
On plugging the Llamatec charger in, there does appear a warning at bootup (see image) stating that a lower powered charger is in use. However i did not notice any practical difference or performance issues with the charger.
As a comparison, I tested charging time for both the Dell 130W charger, and the Llametec 90W charger, recording the time for a single charge from 0% to 100%. Both chargers charged the laptop in approx. 2hrs and 30mins (both charges were standardised with the laptop in use, full brightness, streaming video for the entire charge time, with power saver mode off. Battery had been calibrated prior to the test).
In summary, it works perfectly well as a spare 2nd charger for about 1/3 of the price of the Dell factory charger. I will be buying another one as a spare.
