After reading reviews in various places online, I decided to give this primer a try. The price was good, and it seemed to get fair reviews. Maybe it's just me...I don't have overly oily skin, my pores are average, and I'm pushing 41 yrs. I have three brands of foundation I'm playing with: Maybelline Fit Me Matte, Australis Oh 2 Glow, and one from Clinique. After a couple attempts with all three brands, I can honestly say all of them stay on better without this primer. The saving grace of this primer is that it feels nice on my face and makes my T-zone less shiny when I put it on as a stand-alone product. For those days I don't feel like wearing foundation, I can use this to give my face a little boost. Overall, I don't think I'd buy this product again; barely worth what I paid on sale, and definitely not worth the RRP. Sorry, Rimmel -- I normally like their stuff, but this one was a miss. :(
This does what it says, as far as setting. I couldn't use it as a primer because the coverage was too light. It fixes your makeup well. My issue with this is a very strong determinant on my review... This smells so bad! Not like rotten or expired... it just smells very strongly of chemicals. It wouldn't be so bad if it was only slight or temporary but the smell lasts on your face all day! I am sensitive to smells and this gave me a headache very early in the day. The only way to stop the smell is to wipe it off but can't do that while i am at work. If it had a softer smell like nyx or unscented like elf it would be well worth the price. I do not recommend if you have scent-sitivity.
It’s lotion based and at first application it kind of left my skin feeling tacky. Wish I would have done more research about matter primers before purchasing. My skin is dry and this matte primer does nothing to hydrate my skin. My foundation did stay on long but it looked dry and cracked on my laugh line area (I did not use setting power). Although I can see how it can work for oily skin types because it’s matte, it’s just not for me that’s why I gave it 3 stars.
I do a layer of powder and setting spray before I put my primer on, and while it layers perfectly fine on other primers I've used, this primer pulls it off. Started skipping the product and honesty I think it did nothing to help. In fact, my make up might last longer without.
It is thick going on. It does help with the shine but when I put foundation over it, it kinds makes it splotchy. I will use on the weekend, but not to work. I found another one from Walmart, not sure of the brand, but it is more liquidy, not so think, and I love that one.
