The Chronologic VI (CR9971) is a compact clock radio featuring analogue FM and MW wavebands, snooze, sleep timer, auto dimmer and automatic date and time settings which change automatically when the clocks go forwards and back. There is a dual alarm, this means you can set one for yourself and a different one for your partner if they get up earlier or later than you. There is also a weekend function, you can set this to a different time so you are not rudely awaken too early or maybe you don’t want to get up at all. In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge, it may be necessary to reset the product to resume normal operation. This may generally be performed by turning the unit off and on. In some cases a more complete reset may be needed, by removing all sources of power (battery and mains) when turned off. It has a roller tuner, just like in the 60s 70s and it is not fine enough to tune into stations properly. The display for the frequency is way too small to see what you are doing.
There are no memories at all so if you want to change channels you have to retune the whole thing.
I'm being generous with 2 stars.
It is on its way back to Amazon now.
This is the first radio I have had from Roberts that has done anything other than meet or exceed my expectations.
Also the Snooze button is enormous and the ACTUAL OFF button is not.
3rd in from the right .
Why for crying out loud do clockmakers fail to give us a big ALARM OFF button??
We have kept it however as it appears most others are even worse in one way or another.
Otherwise we like the thing!!
Apart from that, does it's job very well, The choice of days for the alarms is very good. Even switches over when the clocks change.
Trying to get the FM stations to tune can be hit or miss.Need to get that ariel wire is just the right place and keep it there.
Good sound, but difficult to see the dial and the tuning thingy, a knurled round wheel to tune is soo old-fashioned and clumsy, ditto to alter volume.
Not at all sure if I can get other than R4 on digital. But that's all *I* want.
So, fairly good product. Curate's egg.
