I have two other Roberts Radios and they have been very reliable.

This version is as if from a different planet. Gone is the fully opening box and its view of the back of a nasty little speaker. Whatever is inside a now sealed unit delivers sound quality easily comparable to the excellent Sonos Play1 (I own two of those). Despite a plethora of functions and services, the Revival is intuitive and quick to set-up with navigation easier than on my £1000 dedicated network player.
Overall build quality is just excellent and the built-in battery charger a fabulous idea, as conventional batteries just aren't cost viable given the inevitably high power consumption of any unit of this type and capability. You can use conventional batteries, although for extensive portable use it isn't recommended you do so.
Overall I am very, very pleased with this purchase. Completely up-to-date electronics beautifully packaged - the retro look is indeed the only thing retro here. It is a lovely piece of kit.

I bought this radio because of a positive review in what hifi. Yes, it looks good but personally, I find that the the design could have been improved. The cord attaches from underneath the radio. This means that when you have the radio in an upright position (i.e. on its feet), the cord is trapped. I don't like this.
Still, this is just a niggle. The constant switching off is not.
UPDATE: I rang Roberts Customer service. They could not explain why the bluetooth connection was cutting out but they were really friendly and took effort and time to run through possible issues. In the end I had to do a factory reset. This meant I had to re-enter wifi password again and it also meant I lost ALL the internet stations I had painstakingly found and saved. Radio no longer cuts of after 15 minutes bluetooth connection.
I will therefore increase my vote from 2 stars to 4 stars. Still don't like the cable coming from the bottom of the radio BUT customer service was brilliant and (for the time being) the problem has been solved by factory reset.

I loved the Pure unit for sound but still missed the styling of the Revival range so took a gamble and purchased this model.
Right from the moment I switched it on I was really impressed. Roberts have done wonders with the sound quality on this model and absolutely nothing can rival it. I always found the RD70 a bit tinny in sound but with the addition of the larger bass speaker and sharp tweeter on the iStream 3, Roberts have taken mono sound quality to another level. The customisable equaliser on the iStream 3 makes it far superior to anything even with a Sonos or Bose badge. You really have to experience the sound to believe it!
The user interface is straightforward and internet functionality and Bluetooth work perfectly and it's great to be able to search for and stream podcasts from the radio itself. By downloading and installing the UNDOK app on your Android or Apple mobile, you can even control your music, audiobooks, podcasts etc. without leaving your armchair!
Roberts have really surpassed themselves by introducing the iStream 3 into their product range and the positive reviews everywhere on line are testament that you will be buying a quality unit with fantastic sound quality that to be honest, simply can't be beaten by any other manufacturer.
The old saying that you get what you pay for is true. Although the iStream 3 is expensive, it's worth the extra cost and by rewarding yourself with a radio that looks and sounds fantastic, it's a wise investment.
Trust me (and all the other positive reviewers) it's worth every penny...

One annoyance is that it take over 30 seconds to switch on when using on batteries... that is REALLY painfully annoying, but apart from that this is a wonderful fully featured unit: great connectivity, looks and sound. Worth the cash IMHO.

I'm an IT guy, so I know enough to get me by, and tried numerous resets, the lot. Nothing fixed it.
The radio itself was pretty good. Sound was above average, and the DAB & internet radio was great, whilst it worked.
Really disappointed as this is a premium radio at around £180. Now I have to mess about returning the item and waiting for a couple of weeks for my money back, not ideal at all.
If you get a good one then I'm sure it'll make you happy, but my experience has been really poor.
