The Revival RD70 is the Revival reborn; with classic 1950s styling and hand-crafted acoustically-tuned wooden cabinet, the Revival looks and sounds better than ever. Now with the added benefit of Bluetooth, you can stream music from your smartphone to your radio as a stylish speaker. Also new is an intuitive full colour display which makes the radio's features easier to navigate. What's more, the Revival RD70 features two alarms and sleep & snooze timers, so you can wake up and drift off to your radio.

Not so the RD70!
Great tone, deep and resonant, without losing the top end. Has a graphic equaliser too, with presets and the facility to customise sound to suit your ear.
No case rattle, with intuitive, easy operation.
Comes with DAB, FM and is future-proofed with DAB+ and Bluetooth connectivity, excellent for podcast lovers, audiobooks, or streaming music from your phone or tablet. It had two handy alarms, and a sleep timer, enabling you to nod off listening to the radio.
If I have one criticism, the colour screen is small, so reading glasses required if your sight isn't what it was. Also, very much a mains unit, this radio eats a set of AA batteries in a day.
Overall though, one of the best radios I've owned in a long time, tajing the listener back to the time of Hacker, Grundig, and indeed Roberts during their FM golden age.
Wife needed a radio for work, so happily juggled our DAB radios around, and justified this purchase.
Sooooooo happy with it (and odd good weathered weekend so far this year). Yet to try Bluetooth connection (a bonus) and only used for BBC Radio 2 - but sound quality and looks are second-to-none.
I would urge you to consider justifying that extra cost, as worth every penny!
Passionate audiophiles, like me, can see the huge difference in the timbre of the diffused sound, as in this case, from a wooden acoustic box, unlike the usual plastic speakers or similar. This radio, unlike the other models Revival by Roberts integrates a screen with color LCD display, which illustrates the information, images in real time typical of the visual radio. In addition, this device, compared to other models, can be powered with only four batteries, 1.5 volts, size AA.- I use four 1.2 volts - 2800 mh rechargeable batteries, recently purchased on Amazon, with a slow charging charger, about seven hours to get a full charge. In this way the radio works for about twenty hours without interruption. For the cleaning, care and treatment of leather upholstery of Roberts products, I use a conditioner for skins with natural ingredients from a well-known company from Ashington. Good deal!!
I would endorse all the relevant plus points made by other reviewers, commending particularly the rounded and balanced tone achievable by adjusting the Equaliser function (which seems to have replaced the treble/bass tone control of older models) and the ease of pre-sets use. Falling asleep listening to the radio without hearing aids is still possible!
Minor caveats: cannot understand why controls and display are all on top of a radio presumably designed for bedside use eg Sleep function has to be accessed via multiple Menu steps. Maybe this is to accommodate forwardfacing speakers which are definitely a big plus.
Not sure how much of the cost of this expensive radio relates to the 50s retro-style appearance; welcome option of nonblackorwhite/nonplastic but the blingy gilt trimmings rather detract from the otherwise pleasing simplicity of line.
