Please Note, for Bluetooth, trying to use two units especially if the built in one has failed may need the following to be carried out.
For this to work correctly you may need to disable the built in Bluetooth. So, if the new one doesn’t work remove it and go into Windows Device Manager - if you type “device manager” in the Windows 10 search box it should offer a link to this. Then, under Bluetooth, click on the device listed probably as generic, or it might have an Icon to show it’s got a problem, e.g. a yellow shriek or a black dot. You should see a tab that lets you disable the device. Select this and insert your new Bluetooth and try again. Note, if you just see a line that says Bluetooth, click on this and it should open to show any seen Bluetooth devices.
Windows older than 10:
The new Bluetooth comes with a CD that has drivers needed if not running Windows 10.
TIP: If, after installing the latest drivers from Sabrent's website you find pressing CAPS LOCK minimises full-screen applications such as games, open Task Manager (right click on taskbar, press WIN + X, or Ctrl+Alt+Del), and then end the 'Csr Bluetooth OSD Settings' task. Finally, go to the Startup tab, click on the same process name, and then Disable, to prevent having to end task after each reboot.
This arrived a few minutes ago so rather than swap back i placed this in my Odroid N2 and tested to see if it would work (this is with Android OS) as the selection of drivers available for HardKernels version is slightly more limited.
At first the mouse and Xbox gamepad did not respond, however i repaired both devices and it is working like a dream.
In fact it works better than the Asus in this device so i presume the BT chipset support for this device is more baked in. All the issues i had with the asus have gone. Pairing was instant (the asus could throw errors), and the scrolling in the ATV OS is smooth and fluid, with the asus it worked but was rather more erratic.
Overall i am glad i did the swap the performance is better (only time will tell in fairness) and this product is cracking value overall
I was very impressed with how easy it is to connect to everything I have which has Bluetooth including earphones and speakers. Brilliant connection from pc to speaker in garden streaming Amazon Music.. I tried out Bluetooth Ear plugs with in built mic for gaming and the connection was excellent. This is a cracking piece of kit for the money and well worth getting
