Scent was fine, but it made no difference other than to absolutely strip and dry out my hair. I'd rather use a less-drying shampoo and skip conditioner than use this. But it does really cut through a greasy scalp like nothing else.
I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but I had to write something for this. I have had awful skin/scalp issues for years. have tried thousands of dollars worth of products/meds, and nothing has really worked. have been diagnosed with "rosacea", "atopic dermatitis", etc. despite any treatment, I have constant itchiness and various rashes/breakouts, etc. finally after trying this, my issues are clearing up. for the first time in so long, my skin is not constantly itchy!! I noticed a difference after the first time using it, and after 2 weeks it's almost gone. at first I just used it as a shampoo, but I gradually became more bold and I use it on my face, neck, chest, back and upper extremities as well. I use mostly thick foam on areas other than my scalp. but rather than drying out my skin, it finally feels less dry/tight!! if you've had issues that no one has been able to help with, and think malassezia (or yeast) may be your issue, this is definitely worth trying!
Amazon sent a bottle that did not have a seal on the product once I finally opened the cap. The formula also seems a bit off. As 30 dollars is a lot to spend on shampoo I will be buying from a trusted vender next time.
I have struggled with dandruff for years and nothing seemed to work. I saw a dermatologist who suggested that I try Targum as well as other prescription strength shampoos and treatments. These did not work for me. I resorted to rinsing with diluted apple cider vinegar and that seemed to heal some of my scalp flakiness, redness, and scaling but never for very long, simply for getting the symptoms under control. I found out about this Sachajuan shampoo while researching my next remedy and someone mentioned it in a post for another product. I don't know how else I would have found it. It works perfectly. After the first wash i noticed a difference and after the second I no longer had the persistent signs of dandruff. At all. I have been using this about twice a week for two months and my scalp is now healthy. My hair is also much brighter and softer. The scent is lovely and the bottle is packaged beautifully and doesn't scream "dandruff shampoo". I am so grateful that I found this and i hope that they don't change formula and that it continues to work well for me. I will continue to buy this as my regular shampoo and will eventually try the conditioner too.
I waited two months before writing this review to make sure I did not have any issues. Since having my second child, I have had severely oily hair in certain spots (behind the ears, underneath in the back). I can only surmise that it is due to hormonal changes after giving birth. I had tried everything, and switched shampoos multiple times. I was buying Nexxus because it was the only thing that came close to giving me a "clean" after shower feel. Even so, I would wash then dry my hair (a lengthy process for those with long hair) and still it would be oily. I was beyond frustrated. Finally I came across this shampoo while doing some heavy research, and it has solved the problem. It is pricey, and as others have said it is difficult to lather, so you end up using more. But it is worth it to me to have a scalp free of oil, without the damage of drying out my hair. Not sure if it's worth mentioning, but I have dyed blonde hair, and have had zero issues. So very thankful for this product.
I can’t remember how I stumbled upon this product, but about a year ago I had the worst dandruff I’ve ever had. I normally don’t have any so it was really a surprise that one day it looked like it was snowing from my head. It was so bad that I was nervous of getting haircut and having them think something was wrong with my scalp! After seeing that I did the first thing most people would do: go to the store and buy some head and shoulders. After using that for a couple of weeks, I didn’t notice any improvement. I then tried tea tree oil, but didn’t notice any improvement there either. I made an appointment with my dermatologist and she prescribed me shampoo, but I didn’t notice any improvement there either. I scoured the internet and somehow ran into this. It was expensive, but I was pretty desperate so I bit the bullet and gave it try. Within a few days it started getting better. My sister recommended I use the Aussie 3 minute miracle stuff for conditioner as well. Between those two I have not had any dandruff in a year. Now, I did move to California and had run out of this stuff but I did still have my conditioner so I used Dove moisturizing shampoo for a week, but sure enough my scalp was dry and the dandruff was coming back. I freaked out and bought this all over again. I will probably never switch. This story really works or at least it really did for me.
The scent isn’t great as I like a fruity sort of smell to my shampoos and it does not lather as much as say the Dove did, but the results and lack of dandruff are too good to ignore for me.
