works as well in my 1 year old IBM as my 6 year old HP as my 11 year old Dell! and speed is amazing in the first 2 and excellent in the third given its age.
Only slight gripe is that due to its construction my WD Media player does not read the USB - yet other than that it was well worth its price. highly recommend for speed, price and size
I have purchased two other 256GB flash drives USB3.0/3.1 and they have been very disappointing, ripped off I would say even after testing with up-to-date drivers.
Running programs directly from the drive yields a native experience, forget your even using an USB drive and I'm only running on USB 3.0, supposed to run even faster on USB 3.1.
Great price, small in size, verified the drive is an actual 256gb as advertised.
Would buy again.

Write speed was not advertised - specs just say "write speed is lower than read speed". Yeah, less than helpful. I'd prefer to have the write speed advertised so that we can make a more informed purchase. I hope my test helps you all out.
At this price point and for a drive so small I'd say this is a decent purchase. You get huge capacity in a small form factor with write speeds that are in the ballpark of the SanDisk Extreme Pro. If you don't need to consistently write large files - this may fit the bill. If you need faster sustained writes, don't mind a larger drive, and have an extra $35 - maybe the SanDisk Extreme Pro is for you.
I purchased three of these devices to be used as a small RAID-Z1 array for an embedded system in some lab tests. First drive had the disconnect issue mentioned above, and about 500 bad blocks after writing a few GB to the drive. Second drive didn't remove itself, but reported over 1000 bad blocks after the same write load. Neither drive lasted more than 10 minutes before data corruption is detected. Third drive was thrown out without ever touching it because of the first two.
In the computer appliance and embedded server world, "fit" USB drives are the defacto standard for the boot drive. This includes things like VMWare, FreeNAS, pfSense, OPNsense, and general FreeBSD/Linux systems. This is what I got the drives for, and why they would be in a RAID setup (again, common defacto standard for "fit" USB drives). These drives could not handle a single large write and single read back reliably. End of story.
Go with what we know is best. Use the main band that made "fit" drives the defacto standard. Don't trust these. I wanted to experiment with an alternative brand, because their SD cards have been rock solid. USB drives though? Absolute trash. Go with the main, long trusted, long lasting USB storage brand. Yeah, they cost an extra 50 cents... What is your data actually worth !?
3rd of march 2019, I wrote a review for a 256 GB Micro SDXC - ASIN: B074JKDXG3 - Sold by: S.H. Trading
WRONG SKU AND BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE
The item I've received is not the same as described. I've ordered a MB-MC256GA/AM which is warranty in US and verified this was the part number in the description. I've received a MB-MC256GA/APC which I found is for the Asia Pacific market. The item had a printed label covering the OEM bar code and SKU info. This is really bad business practice and, as I read, seem to happen quite frequently whit SD card. Amazon should do a control on theses. Unfortunatly, review page refuse to accept my picture of it. I will probably return it and avoid buying SD card from third party sellers.
26th of october 2020, MUF-64AB/AM USB 3.1 Flash Drive - ASIN: B07D7P4SY4 - Sold by: M Direct CA
Here we go again,
Item technical details description on Amazon show as MUF-64AB/AM which is warranty in US. And guest what, the item had a printed label covering the OEM bar code and SKU info. Once peeled off, it revealed to be a MUF-64AB/EU which is for the European market. So again, no warranty. I've found out that most memory items sold for other than US market usually sell for less in US because of the lack of warranty and that what i was tring to avoid whitout success. I usually enjoy shopping at Amazon but for theses 2 purchases, Amazon is be be avoided. I know that i wrote the same warning in my last review but i've took a chance this time and lose. Since item work ok, whitout memory errors and was cheap, i'm going to keep it as i need it now and have no time to return it.
