Trying to claim warranty issue.

Hard drive stopped working and went to claim warranty through seagate and was advised the below. Still waiting for the seller to get back to me after 10 days on organising warranty replacement/refund on this Hard Drive.

“ Thank you for getting back to us with the proof of purchase and the drive's label for review. Kindly contact the seller for warranty return as the drive was not intended to be sold as bare drive. Based on our records, the serial number XXXXXXXX tied to an external drive Seagate Portable drive (parent). The label stated that the hard drive sold as component of OEM.

Please proceed to replace the unit through the supplier. There are no authorization number from Seagate for product return through the place of purchase”

I bought a Inwin A1 Plus case so I had to get a 2.5 inch drive with a large capacity, so I bought this hard drive 5TB and it was half the price of Australian retailers 50% off was a great deal for the 5TB drive. I love amazon they always seem to be able to go way cheaper than any Australia RRP from any retailer. For the price I will say this is the best value drive you can get!!!! very happy with the drive. Thank you Amazon :)

After I installed this drive into a Sabrent 2.5-Inch SATA to USB 3.0 Tool-Free External Hard Drive Enclosure for a family member, she had problems reading/writing data via her Macbook Pro. But yet, it worked fine when configured as a logical drive on Windows 10. Our solution was to buy a specifically Mac compatible external drive instead. And besides, I was sent the non-Pro model instead - false advertising.

So in terms of the drives themselves, they are fine, luckily. It arrived as expected and on time but upon getting the box my worries set in, the drives did not come protected at all, no bubblewrap no nothing. As you see from the picture that is exactly how they came in the box, im not trusting them yet but I have ran a full hdtune on them to verify they work, what will happen in future mind, that is what worries me! Im unsure if others have had such poor packaging but just bear that in mind when ordering.

Think it should make it clear about depth, Got my original PS4, slide it in, no chance of it fitting.

Ok, that PS4 narrow disk cage around the drive needs to go just leave the bit that the drive screws on to.

PS4 now has a 5TB drive.

I bought this hard drive to upgrade my PS4 pro. Amazon is using the same page for each version of this HDD. The 1 and 2 TB are 7 mm so they fit no problem but the 3, 4 and 5 TB are 15 mm so they don't fit in the console. That's my bad for not being more careful when I ordered it but the fact that all of those product use part of the same description and customer comments is kind of misleading. I'm sure this is a great HDD but don't buy more than 2 TB if you want to fit it in a PS4.
