1.0 out of 5 stars Two drives, one with 2500+ bad sector, one DoA
Reviewed in India on 15 October 2018
Ordered this drive on Amazon sale, first one delivered within a day. Connect it to desktop to try transferring some files, right off the bat gnome disks says 1700+ bad sectors, however drive health is ok. Do a brief research and found that this alone might not make it a bad drive, the number may not even go up. Try transferring files from old hard disk (HGST, 1TB, 3 years old, zero bad sectors), after about 100GB transfer, rsync slows down and begins to complain. I check gnome disks, 2590+ bad sectors, drive health reduced to 99 from 100, still says ok. Decided not ok, disconnect the drive and repackaged it.
Order a replacement, replacement gets delivered 3 days later in torn up packaging held together with rubber bands. Connect the drive again, Windows disk management asks to intialize drive, click initialize, fails with IO error. Boot linux live distro, with the SATA cable from my Crucial SSD connected to this drive on the off chance the cable was bad. Gnome disks can't initialize the drive, gparted fails to scan drive and complains about IO errors. Disconnected and repackaged it, now contemplating next move.

Edit: Ended up taking it up to seagate customer service, RMAed it, they gave me a new hard drive, with warranty, delivered in a properly cushioned box. Using it for 5 months now, no issues yet.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pobre rendimiento de escritura. Sospecho problemas de ciclo de carga/descarga. Devuelto.
Reviewed in Spain on 21 December 2018

1) 20181224 0831 ST2000DM008 Inicio format C1 1227. Inicio formateo disco previo a verificaciones.

2) 20181225 1024 ST2000DM008 99% format C1 1227.

7.2) Referencia ST2000DM001 - 20181222 2122 H2testw Inicio.
7.3) Referencia ST2000DM001 - 20181223 0752 H2testw finalizado.
7.5) Referencia ST2000DM001 - 20181223 1313 CrystalDiskInfo SMART - ultima captura.
