5.0 out of 5 starsWorks Just Fine
Reviewed in Australia on 2 July 2022
I bought a NAS. Didn't know much about how it works except I wanted network attached storage. I wanted good quality, reliable disks but also not spending a fortune. Disks seem to be a commodity item now but there are differences in performance. I wanted 2x disks so one would be copy of the other.

Based on all above criteria I bought these and they work well. All I did was install them into the NAS device and they "just work". I've had no disk failures and they seem to work well. If something is "set & forget" that suits me just fine.

1.0 out of 5 starsITEM ARRIVED FAULTY. BLACK & WHITE LABEL & PRINTED RECERTIFIED.
Reviewed in Australia on 7 January 2021
Not what I was expecting.
Was suppose to be new , Not recertified ( refurbished ).

Worse it arrived dead, possible damaged through transit. HDD Kept on quietly stopping repeatedly.
Not registering on 2 systems and 1 computer is brand new.
Very likely miss head alignment.
IT's a shame though. Ho well better luck next time.
Hopfully I can get refunded, we'll see.

Unit was dead on arrival. Only packaged in a couple layers of bubble wrap. Manufacturer's website says their HDDs should never be posted only in bubble wrap.

4.0 out of 5 stars Long returns process
Reviewed in Australia on 24 August 2021

Finally, after ordering on the 15th of July, I have a working HDD in my system.
Original HDD that shipped from the US was DOA. Chose to RMA it directly through Seagate, assuming it would be faster than trying to return it all the way back to the states.
The replacement drive finally arrived yesterday, and worked immediately upon installing it in the new system.
I will give Seagate kudos for their ease of return of the old one, but the shipping experience was terrible both on the original and the replacement drive. I work in retail, and fully understand that shipping during covid is terrible, but this was insane. Watching the tracking, it went in and out of China several times during transit.
I've used many Seagate and WD HDDs and this experience hasn't turned me off the brand, but it has definitely been the most frustrating experience I've had with the company to date.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fake labelling, bought 12TB full price but turned out to be 8TB
Reviewed in Australia on 13 June 2022

The drive that came is labelled with 12TB, but actually reads 8TB on my PC. This is a total scam. The labelling is misleading and I paid over AUD$400 for a 12TB drive.

3.0 out of 5 stars Le disque fait des "click" et des sons étranges dès l'installation
Reviewed in Canada on 10 February 2021
Capacity: 12TBStyle Name: HDDVerified Purchase

1.0 out of 5 stars Dead On Arrival
Reviewed in Canada on 20 September 2020

Update: This is the second HDD that I purchase on sale that failed, however, this time Amazon is making me pay for the return. I would recommend looking for a retailer that offers free returns so when your HDD arrives DOA you don't have to pay to return this HDD looking paperweight.

Purchase a Seagate IronWolf 12TB NAS Internal Hard Drive from Amazon because it was on sale, however, when I tried to add it to my NAS, the NAS would not recognize it. I also tried the drive in a USB docking station with the same results. You could hear the drive trying to spin-up but that was it. I do not know if it was a manufacturer's defect or damage during shipping (big dent in the Frustration Free Packaging). I guess I'll see how the replacement drive works. So far (3 months) the other 3 Seagate IronWolf 12TB drives purchased from a different store are working flawlessly.

1.0 out of 5 stars Scam alert!
Reviewed in Canada on 19 January 2021
Capacity: 12TBStyle Name: HDDVerified Purchase
I ordered two 12 TB non pro drives. one came as advertised and seems okay, however one had the ESD bag already open and taped shut, inside was a 1 TB WD drive with a very badly blurry copy of the correct drives label taped on it.

what was weird was the outside box's label seemed perfectly untouched.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fast but loud 12TB NAS drives
Reviewed in Canada on 24 December 2020
Capacity: 12TBStyle Name: HDDVerified Purchase
I bought 3 of these to expand the storage on my Drobo 5N2 NAS. I replaced some 6TB WD Red drives. While these drives are faster (7200 rpm vs WD Red 5400 rpm) they are also noticeably louder. My NAS was dead silent with the WD Red drives but with these one knows when the drives are reading and writing or when the NAS is performing its maintenance routines.

Update (Jan 3rd, 2021):

Drives became louder and louder and then simply stopped working causing NAS to go into recovery mode.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quiet And Reliable
Reviewed in Canada on 23 July 2022

Not a big fan of WD as a company, but their mechanical hard drives are top notch. Very low odds of defect, and low temperature, compared to something like Seagates. Perfect for multi-drive NAS. Quieter than older generations. No complaints.
