To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I have bought 4 Crucial MX500 SSD and they are FAST. I thought I would try a less expensive smaller drive for a old computer. I put this drive in and it is faster than the original HDD but considerably slower than the CRUCIAL MX500. For $25 more I would have been better served by getting a Crucial MX500 instead. But for $30 I guess it isn't bad.
Solid state is certainly much faster than mechanical and this drive meet the needs, until it began acting strange. The drive no longer accepted changes from the OS. Deleted files were still there on reboot, updates were done but requested again on reboot, files added to the drive were missing on reboot. Running a chkdsk on the drive caused a lockup and any attempt to format and start over failed. The drive is in a permanent condition of being frozen. A very strange behavior for any hard drive. I would hesitate purchasing this brand and recommend checking the warranty period. I can still read the drive and use it with the save the files it already has, but it is a lost cause.
I replaced SSDs into Imac 27 inch (late 2015 and 2017). SSD mounts into adapter fine, but not long enough to secure into mac. The mounting pins that hold the drive into the chassis also threaded differently. The threading issue can be overcome with brute force, and I had to use zip tie to secure into the chassis.
