Electronic Lockout: 4 clicks form OFF to disable the light, same to re- enable the lamp.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great EDC light with bright but short turbo
Reviewed in the United States on 7 September 2020
I own more than 20 flashlights from various brands including quite a few from Sofirn because they deliver good value at reasonable prices.

The SC31 Pro is a fairly new light, I purchased the SST40 6500K version.

It's an improved version of the SC31 with a SST40 LED and a USB-C charge port.

Pros:
- Anduril UI which is very customizeable
- Turbo is very bright as can be seen from my beam shot video
- Color temp felt warmer than the 6500K indicated
- Just the right size for EDC
- USB C charging

Cons:
- Gets hot quickly on Turbo, steps down within 1 minute
- The spill has a second ring which results from the reflector design, noticeable at lower settings

My beam shot video was taken at ISO 400, 1/30 sec, F1.5, WB=5000k

In summary, if you are looking for an EDC light that can light up the whole area in Turbo (when walking your dog at night, or camping), this is the light for you.

Tip: Out of the box, the temperature calibration is way off, showed 32C in a 19C room, which will result in turbo stepping down too quickly
Instruction on how to calibrate temp under Anduril UI:
From Off
3 clicks to enter battery check
2 clicks to enter sunset mode
2 clicks to enter beacon mode
2 clicks to enter temp check
Flashing shows current temp
4 clicks to enter temp calibration
1 flash – follow by rapid flashing, while flashing rapidly, click N times where N=room temp in C, stop
2 flashes – follow by rapid flashing, while flashing rapidly, click N times (up to 35) to set max temp to 30C + N, stop
Flashing shows original temp -> brief pause -> flashing shows new temp
1 click to turn off

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Winner from Sofirn!
Reviewed in the United States on 15 September 2020
I recently found out about the new updated SC31 model and had to have it. The new SC31 PRO is the latest update to this very popular series. I personally own the original model (SC31) and owned the (SC31B) for several months before loaning it to my father. He refuses to give it back to me because he loves it so much. Now chapter 3 is here and I can’t say enough positive things about the newest model that I recently purchased. First of all it is much brighter than the previous generations. This unit pumps out 2000 lumens on the turbo mode. The last version was only 1000 lumen but very respectable. The new unit heats up quickly but a light of this size isn’t designed for long turbo sessions. The neat thing that sets this unit apart from the predecessors and most of the competition is the Anduril software that it has running on it. If you are not familiar with Anduril you need to do some research. It opens up so many customization options for this light. It allows you to change from stepping to ramping, lockout, muggle mode, battery check, beacon, sunset, temp check, candle, strobe options and several other settings. It may be too much for most but it defaults to very easy functions. The anduril software even allows you to change the temperature threshold to a longer run time before it drops down due to heat.

The size is very convenient. The overall length is exactly 4.62 inches and the diameter is exactly 1 inch. It is slightly shorter (¼ in) than the original model I have. Sofirn included a nice 18650 cell with 3000 mah in the package. The unit charges via a USB-C port located near the top of the light. It charges very quickly via the included USB cable. Keep in mind that you will need a power supply from a cell phone or other charger to provide charging power. There are additional o’rings provided as well as a standard lanyard. The claimed 200 meter throw of this torch looks accurate. I was impressed with the throw and the overall profile of the beam. The run times for these lithium powered lights never ceases to amaze me. I did not test run times but several hours of use will come from one charge even at the higher levels.

The feel of the torch in my hand was comfortable just like the older variations. I have included a photo with the older unit and a few other Sofirn lights that I currently own for comparison. You can see that it is very attractive in size. I can’t say enough good about my Sofirn lights. I have owned the first two models of this one as noted above, the SP32 ver 2 , IF25a, SP36 Narsil and Anduril versions, SP33 ver 3, and SD05. Each time I get a new model my appreciation for Sofirn’s product line grows. Do you have one? If you do share a comment about your experience. If not give them a try. The quality and price of Sofirn products is hard to match.
