I just got my brand new sony hd5 and i have fallen in love with it. Having owned an ipod 15gb before the hd5, I can see that the sony is equal to or beats the ipod in every area.
It is smaller, better looking, has a much longer battery life and has better file compression than the ipod.
The software seems very easy to get to grips with and song transfer was much more straight forward than with the ipod. It even allows you to transfer songs easily from the hd5 to your pc, something that was particularly complcated with the ipod.
The screen colours can be inverted so that black = white and vica versa, which is a nice touch. The screen is also easy to read in any light condition, unlike the ipod.
All in all, it is a brilliant little machine and I would recommend it to anyone.
