1. Pure punchy bass, if you are bass lover you will definitely fall in love with this buds
2. Lightweight, yes it is quite big but not heavy in weight
3. Too much loud, much more louder than galaxy buds+ as i have listened buds+ from one of my friend
4. No sound break even in full volume
5. Good battery life, enough for a single day use as i think no one is going to use it for long 24 hours continuously
I am really missing the headphone connects app of sony, i wish if its support.. but its ok because the sound i am getting from this buds are really awesome..
An update :
Some people are complaining about sound depth, please change the eartips from small to medium or large, you will understand the changes and will get the real sound.
Thank you Sony and Amazon
Battery - Excellent, no complaints. 9-10 hours. 5 STAR.
Calls - during phone calls, other side caller can hear you clearly but you will hear a hollow effect, like the caller is talking through a PVC tube. So, I give 4 STAR
BT Connectvity - I did not face any problems with Left & Right connectivity on calls or music. For Calls, you can use Left earbud independently or both together.
Good with my iphone 11 but drops intermittently when connected to PC for music or calls, breaks 6-7 times average per minute but reconnects immediately within a sec. - 4 STAR (for calls)
Music - Excellent. Bass/LF is excellent, Mid frequency is also good. in the HF department, it is slightly less, maybe 5% to 7%. Stereo separation is better than Bose. Overall, SONY WF-XB 700 is excellent.
Fitting is excellent, Wearing it for 4-5 hours does not pain or hurt and I even forgot that I have a earbud in my ear. (with Bose, I remove it every time after calls).
The only CON is, the plastic lid is very flimsy and cheap and always seed a fear of breaking any moment.
I am blown away by the sound Especially when listening to Edm's which is what i mostly listen to.
The bass is so thumpy that it destroys the airpods (not the pro).
Even without Active noise cancellation the isolation is just top notch.
A must buy for the bass heads like me.
NOTE - People who are complaining about the low quality sound should change the ear tips according to their ear size. I was using a smaller one and the sound was terrible. But as soon as i changed it according to my ear size.. Voila!
Sound delivery: good, like the sony MDRs
Bass: good (not excellent)
Noise cancellation: ok, (we cannot claim as this is not designed for noise cancellation, but this is not as good as the cheaper MDR 55 wired headphones of 2000 rupees. Honestly, I felt they wired and over-the-ear MDRs do better cancel the noise though they are not noise-canceling headphones)
Surround effect: Poor (compared to competitors, including the 3000 rupees cheaper Boat earphones)
Fit and comfort: Very good (I wore this for hours and felt ok with mild pain. Maybe with time I get used to wearing this. Fit is very good.
Fall out: No tendency to fall. Perfect fit as of now.
Battery: Average. I don't think it lasts for 9hrs after a charge.
Charging cable: too short
People in youtube reviews are mentioning this as 'Bass King' etc etc. I think all are just hyping this to make viewers purchase the product by clicking the links (so that they earn royalty). Honestly, Bass is not that extreme.
My verdict: Go for something else! Better spend less and go for cheaper wired Sony MDR's or over-the-ear sony headphones for surround and noise cancellation along with good bass features. WF-XB700 is not a Wow product!
Detailed review: (to help you save your money!)
I'm a big fan of sony products and I use sony's mirrorless camera, Bravia, laptops, mp3 players, and headsets. This is the first time I moved to truly wireless. To be honest, I'm not impressed by this product. The sound surround that I expected was not that great. I have used mid-range MDR headphones, including over the ear types, all sony, and I feel that the MDRs are pretty good compared to this, given the lower price ones (1/5th of this price). I had once tested Boat earphones Airdopes 311v2 (my friend has that) and when I first put them on my ears, I was completely blown by the surround effect that the headphones delivered. I can see the difference in the sound and surround effect. So, I thought to purchase wireless earbuds expecting something similar to that. Honestly, this thing disappointed me. Though a little surround effect was heard, the music and bass sound normal to me (i'm used to hearing Sony MDR-XB55 from the past three years. I'm still using the headphones and they are great. They even do noise cancellation a lot better, even during travel). Noise cancellation with this headset is not impressive (as expected) but the sound quality and surround effect (like for 8D music), that too for the price range of 10,000, is not great. Also, I was shocked to notice that the dust mesh/filter protecting the inner electronics from the sound delivery passage/hole is missing in this Sony product. The charging cable is too short that it will be difficult if we try to get it charged from the wall socket. Every time I had to use my laptop as I don't prefer to use a mobile phone. I don't understand why companies do cost-cutting in such things they they could provide a meter length cable at a 50/100 rupees extra charge. We would've paid that right?
I think people have just overrated these headphones and many reviews in YouTube's are paid or are meant to make people purchase through the links that they share. Don't get fooled, guys!
I suggest if you are looking for an earbud just for listening and enjoying music, go for wired MDR headphones. Else, if you really want wireless headphones, get cheaper ones like the boat and see if they fit to your purpose.
I got the headphones replaced with a new one. The seller 'Appario...' was quick enough to send the replacement.
However, even after the replacement, I see that the dust mesh was missing like in the earlier product. I don't understand how sony claims IPX4 if the holes are not sealed. In just one day of use, I can see some dust and ear wax sticking to the inside walls. When i tried to blow them off, I was driven to nuts as they were going inside. Also, using an earbud (cotton) was useless as the hole size is small. So, the headphones are sure to accumulate ear wax and dust in just a few months, possibly reducing the sound effects. I don't understand how sony had come up with this design!
