Great graphics , gameplay is pretty smooth problem is , it’s like playing tomb raider or uncharted with a lightsaber why tf do I spend hours jumping and climbing and doing puzzles instead of getting on with the story and fighting the empire ?....
I want to like this game, and I haven't even made it through all the way, but I've come to realize, they just remade the Tomb Raider game but changed a few things. There are so many similarities, I'm not sure it's worth it. I was hoping for a roleplaying game or something beyond what's done before, but this is nothing but puzzles and very little actual character development. Even the way you upgrade your stats is the exact same way, just instead of a campfire, you use a meditation circle. When you upgrade your lightsaber, same thing, even though you eventually get an upgrade to a double blade, which, honestly, isn't worth it, I find using a single blade is much easier.
One thing that drives me nuts is the fact that the bad guys respawn ridiculously quickly. You don't have to even leave the area to turn around and find that the bad guys you just defeated are back. Even the climbing mechanics are the same. It almost feels like they just took Tomb Raider and overlaid it with a few new things and released it. I guess after Andromeda, I'm just sensitive and a bit touchy to game companies doing shoddy work, remaking games and slapping a new name on it and expecting us to ignore it.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Tomb Raider games, I just wanted something new with this one.
I'm sure I'll finish it, I don't like leaving games unfinished (except Andromeda, I don't think I'll ever forgive them for that) but my want to finish is not great.
I was very skeptical when this game was released, and rightly so. The game play itself isn't that bad, its the confusing maps, and long tedious travel times. I don't mind having to revisit old areas, if its done well, but this is just so damn time consuming. Seems like I spent over 3/4 of the game trying to figure out where to go, and the time it took to get there.
You have to run along walls and jump over canyons, and if you don't do it right you have to do it all over again. And it's not easy to do. So it eats on your nerves trying to maneuver up a wall then constantly falling. The game is generally pretty boring. I had to stop playing because I didn't care enough to work that hard and not being able to maneuver was pissing me off. .
I have never played a Star Wars game before...now I know why. I've played this game for about 5 hours and I am bored out of my mind. I can't imagine going through a whole video game playing with nothing but a light sabre. In today's day and age of games with infinite weapons and wide open worlds, this Star Wars game seems so constrictive that I squirm in my seat because of the total frustration and total linearity of the game. So I stopped playing this boring Star Wars game and went back to Borderlands 3 that has an infinite amount of weapons and a wide open world. At least I know never to play a Star Wars game again....
The game came on time and in great condition. I love Star Wars and KOTOR has to have some of my best memories. This game is impressive. I don’t get much time to game each week. Sometimes it’s 30 minutes at night. I’m constantly stuck in a fight or solving a puzzle. It’s not fun for me any more. If I have a free hour, it won’t be pushing a big ball around a room with air for 60 minutes. I want lightsaber action and force throws, lightning and Jedi stuff.
It isn't a fun starwars game. The jedi skills are lame and slow to develop. The fighting isn't intuitive. The cinematic scenes are long and you can't skip ahead. Overall a pretty crappy game and a huge disappointment.
It really isn't like any of the previous Jedi games. It's more of a climbing game set in the Star Wars universe, reminding me more of Prince of Persia. Wasn't what I was expecting, was incredibly glad Amazon accepted it as a return
