To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The shipping and everything else was fine. This is a terrible game. Do not be sucked into buying this because its Star Wars. If you played Force Unleashed as a kid as I did, this is nothing like it. I repeat do not buy this game, it sucks expletive. I'm beginning to lose faith in everything EA makes
This is a great looking game. If you liked Prince of Persia, you will most likely enjoy this game. If you didn’t, you may not. This is almost that game with a lightsaber. There is a lot of jumping, wall-running, and having to hit buttons at the exact right moment or you will die (or worse, have to keep repeating the same parts).
I’m about 3 hours in so far, and my concern is that the game is going to be very repetitive. If that turns out not to be the case, I will happily change my review.
Also, I did not receive my preorder bonuses from Amazon.
EDIT: I did finally receive the preorder bonuses. I’ve also played the game for several hours now, and I have to say, I think I’d still give it a 3, and I feel that’s generous. There are so many lag issues with the graphics. Enemies will just randomly appear in front of you, and certain textures and objects will just materialize in front of you. It just seems kind of buggy to me, like all the kinks weren’t worked out before the release date.
Is it fun? It can be, but the graphics issues are annoying. Also, the holomap feature on the game needs a complete redesign; in my opinion, that map is useless.
When I bought this item, I was under the impression that it would include the upgraded bonus content for preordering early :/ not sure if I may have read the offering incorrectly or not, but needless to say, I am a touch disappointed.
Fantastic and we'll thought out game. This is a single player game and has no on line play. Kudos to EA from keeping microtransactions out of the game. Game is reminiscent of Force unleashed but with a way cooler storyline.
Without any spoilers, so far, I'm really enjoying the story line.
As expected, the visuals and sound are top notch. It's great just running around viewing everything. You can explore to unlock cosmetic items, so it's not on rails or anything, but it's not completely open either... you do have to stick to the story, at least the first time through. You can go between planets between missions if you'd choose to. But without the story, it's really only exploring you'd be doing as there aren't really any side quests per se.
The biggest con I've run into so far are the controls. I feel like I need to zoom the camera out a little, but I can't. I feel like sometimes I "hit" an enemy but it doesn't register. It's just awkward camera angles that can't be resolved. Hope they polish this in the near future. Lightsaber combat is annoying too... I feel it's very hard to parry... when I do block, it doesn't register it seems.
There are a lot of skills to choose from. I've only unlocked about half of them. I feel like for the most part, you don't need to unlock any of the skills but 2. I mostly picked up all the force and life skills.
EDIT: I pre-ordered and didn't receive my pre-order code. I called them on 15Nov, they said to give it 48 hours. Called back yesterday, they said EA never gave them the codes and they were working on it. Woke up this morning, 19Nov, and got my code. If you didn't get it yet, you may want to contact them.
This game is garbage wow. Not at all the game I had envisioned playing. I was SO pumped to have another kotor style game, but with better graphics and combat. I really miss the kotor games and was hoping this would at least have the standard RPG style with companions. Outer worlds is far and away the better game that has come out recently. I was terrible at dark souls, and I am terrible at this same style of game all around. It just doesnt have the right feel to it, the ship is so small and blegh. Only being able to change a color or handle is dumb....people love customizing their weapons to create maximum damage for their style of play. This game went in the opposite direction of what I thought they were trying to do.
I have to give credit where credit is due. Respawn and EA, did a great job with this game. The parry system really adds a level of depth and precision, that makes you feel like you are earning your wins during battles. Instead, of feeling as though you are just button mashing your way to victory. The game sort of tries to give that dark souls combat style and combat mechanics, but with better than average Star Wars story added to it.
I definitely would recommend getting this game for anyone on the fence about it. However, if you really want to experience it, you should play the game on one of the harder difficulty settings. So prepare to die a bit until you get used to all the controls and get some upgrades.
This review is for the X Box One X console version. And I've avoided spoilers. I really wanted to wanted to give this game 5 stars but couldn't. The story draws you in. It feels like a legitimate Star Wars prequel taking place sometime between the "Revenge of the Sith" and "A New Hope". The design, graphics, and details are top notch. And I love the emphasis on exploration and discovery and solving puzzles (shades of Uncharted here) - as opposed to just mindless unending battles (like, say, Gears 5). On the topic of battles, the experience of combat with your light saber is awesome. And Disney so needs to give the main villain Second Sister Trilla (Elizabeth Grullon) her own movie or show on Disney Plus - best Star Wars villain since Darth Vader. Now for the bad: the game tries to replicate the game-play mechanics of Uncharted, the rebooted Tomb Raider and Titanfall ..........but fails. The most frustrating part of the game is the number of times you fall to your death trying to make that jump, or the number of times you have to jump to grab that "ledge" before the mechanics actually work. Also at one point of the game the floor geometry just vanishes for a while (others have had this problem as well). And while the side characters are really interesting (especially, Second Sister - so bad, she's good!........she makes Kylo Ren seem like a sulking, petulant child), the main protagonist that you play is an uninteresting idiot. This is no Lara Croft or Nathan Drake or Ellie (from The Last of Us). Missing any personality he is ! But despite all this, have I enjoyed this game? The answer is hell, yes. Still a "Strong Buy" . The video "cinematography" at times is breathtaking and you feel that you're watching a big budget Star Wars movie. Despite all the game-play mechanics glitches, The Last Order is still one of the best console games of 2020 - and makes me glad I have a 55 inch 4K TV screen and a X Box One X console.
Game is broken! I do not understand how a game with so many game breaking bugs and glitches even gets released. I cannot get past the tutorial, because the cutscene glitches out causing me to fall to my death. I have tried everything, restarting my Xbox, restarting the game, even starting over in the game, and I even reinstalled the game and still have this issue. I don't know how this game was allowed to be released, it isn't finished.
