An optical cable either works or it doesn't... there's no audio quality difference between one or the other no matter how fancy, thick, gold plated or whatever it is. This one works. It is thin with less protective coating than some of the alternatives so it's probably better for use in situations where you wont be moving stuff around (such as my case). Otherwise, no complaints.
We needed a TOSLINK cable to get from our TV mounted high on the wall, down to our soundbar, mounted on the entertainment cabinet. It had to be a relatively long cable, because it also had to be routed through some "make it pretty" wire conduit. This cable gets the signal from the TV down to the soundbar with no apparent signal degradation issues ... it's inexpensive and it works.
Cheap, thin, flexible, no nonsense like gold plating that doesn't even make an electrical connection (this is optical). I'm using it with a $2500 headphone setup and notice no sound degradation compared to USB. Technically superior to USB since the optical cable can't pick up or transmit electromagnetic interference.
Product is cheap, poorly made and a bad knock-off item. Whatever its supposed to be its not. It doesn't fit any optical inlet, plug ends are too small and it slides right back out. Looks like they even imitated the shape wrong, probably why it don't fit and is too small. I wasted a few dollars to learn a cheap lesson.
Small profile made it easy to route through the wall cavity between my video and audio equipment. the jacks are the right size. cable is durable enough to just sit in the wall and do it's job for years.
