This is an epic book which most importantly this book give a you fun quality time with kids!
I bought it on a whim when I was looking for sticker reward present for my kid and it’s now elevated itself to one of our favourite books which we open pretty much every weekend.
It gives you so many lovely and simple drawings and teaches you in a basic way how to create them which is easy for a young kid to follow. My 5 year old follows it really well and was easily able to do all the main drawings in the book.
Favourites include the castle and princess drawings along with submarine which look cool and are really fun.
My kids even started making his own comic books using the book which is welcome distraction from the iPad.
5.0 out of 5 starsLovely for giving much needed drawing confidence to my 6 year old.

Lovely book, we have all three of the Usborne step by step drawing books. Very easy to follow, breaks down pictures into drawing mostly simple known shapes, and putting them together to get the picture, which my 6 year old could do, ending up with something which looked like the thing it was supposed to resemble, and a fun light hearted version of it, which gave my daughter (who thinks she can't draw well) a great sense of achievement. Only things which you may want to be aware of (i) My daughter tells me that some of the faces they show you how to draw, are in one of the other two books, so it looks like there is an element of overlap between books, albeit small. (ii) Also, the book is fairly thick - nice thick pages to draw on, but most of the space on the pages is for the child to draw on rather than instructions and tips, not necessarily a downside, but if you're using 'thinkness' of book to gauge volume of content, this might just be worth considering, but yes, for a 6 year old who lacks confidence in drawing, this is a good book.
This book is absolutely brilliant. My four-year-old son spends hours following the steps to draw his own characters. We spent (literally!) hours using it in a museum in Liverpool and loved it so much we bought our own copy. Highly recommended.

Awesome fun book I bought to encourage my son to draw. He’s 7 years old and was very nervous about drawing in general, this book has been excellent in helping him draw. Come to find out he’s actually a natural at it and will also draw his own versions of the pictures provided in the book. There’s lots of drawing space and the ideas are easy enough to copy. My son’s 7 years old and he’s also on the autism spectrum. I think the book is great fun and also great value. I’ll be getting the other books in the series.
