I'll be honest, I "liked" the dark elements trilogy but I fell in love with Storm and Fury. I did reflect on why that might have been and I think mostly it was because I was Team Zayne with the original series and well, if you read it, you'd know how that ended!
Trinity Marrow doesn't let her vision stop her from doing anything. One of the most notable things for me, was that she never told Zayne about it until much later in the book. She is extremely resilient and longs for a life outside the Warden community.
Zayne and Trinity have an instant connection that they don't quite understand and the banter between them made me laugh on many occasions.
Peanut had me in hysterics and I do hope he takes on a bigger part as the series continues.
Bambi..... Boy, did I miss her.... Glad to see her make an appearance here and also hope we see her again!
Overall, I loved all the characters, new and old. The story line to me flowed quite well showing the spectrum of events that define Trinity. I found myself on the edge of my seat sometimes and at other points, I didn't want to turn to the next page due to the emotions that were going through me while reading....
You can read Storm and Fury without Dark Elements but in my opinion, read it first. The tension between all the older characters makes more sense if you do.

Jennifer L. Armentrout's intoxicating new fantasy is her best yet! -New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter Filled with legendary creatures, this wild, action-packed ride features a kick-ass heroine to cheer for and a love interest I'm still dreaming about. Highly recommended for those who enjoy adventure, romance, twists and turns, and epic supernatural world building! -Kresley Cole, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Arcana Chronicles A swoony, supernatural smash that's impossible to put down! -Abigail Johnson, author of Even If I Fall Jennifer L. Armentrout is a master of weaving rich contemporary realism with magic and mayhem. Her characters will grab hold of your heart and refuse to let go. Every page left me wanting more. -New York Times bestselling author Brigid Kemmerer The action and suspense build with each chapter, making this a compelling read. Readers will anxiously await the next installment in this series, and libraries will find it difficult to keep this one on the shelf. --School Library Journal As always, Armentrout excels in building a paranormal romance world that is believable, accessible, and riveting. --Booklist All in all, Storm and Fury is such a wonderful way to continue telling stories in the universe Jen Armentrout so deftly built for the Dark Elements series. I am absolutely in for all the Warden history and lore, for all the possibilities and struggles that this forboding 'harbinger' will bring. I am fully invested in both Trinity and Zayne, and am desperate to see what lies ahead for them. So, I promise to try and be patient for the next chapter of this saga, but I know I will breathe a sigh of relief when the next title is released, when the next cover is revealed, and when the next story arrives on my doorstep. Until then, I shall sing the song of the Wardens to any and all who will listen, because I truly love this book. --Hypable

It was a long novel so I expected a lot to happen, but the first half of the book was kind of dragged out and even the second part didn't impress me too much. I liked the banter between Trinity and Zayne, but their romance developed a little too quickly for me to believe (maybe I just love slow burns a lot more lol). Lastly, I didn't appreciate the plot twist towards the end and felt like there had been no real lead up to it. Maybe there was a small hint or two, but I still couldn't believe it in a logical way how things all played out. Perhaps it'll be explained better in the next book but I'm not sure if I want to read another long one and be disappointed.

Oh lordy this book was so so awesome!!
The action, drama, romance and betrayal.... wow this book had it all!!
After finishing Roth and Laylas series I was super bummed to not have more to read in this world, but then finally this book released and bam I was back to loving the Wardens and a new character, Trinity.
Zayne stole my heart in the The Dark Elements series so I was so damn happy to read more about him.
Bring on book 2 of The Harbinger β€

So I picked up this book and sunk straight into it, my eagerness turned to annoyance though. The same themes and scenes were re-occurring as in her other books. This was disappointing as I know Jennifer is an amazing author.
But I did love the twists and turns and will read the next instalment

This is the great mythology and law we love. Older readers need these books too and more mature characters within the plot lines.

OMG!!!!
Storm and Fury is about Eighteen-year-old Trinity Marrow may be going blind, but she can see and communicate with ghosts and spirits. Her unique gift is part of a secret so dangerous that she's been in hiding for years in an isolated compound fiercely guarded by Wardens--gargoyle shape-shifters who protect humankind from demons. If the demons discover the truth about Trinity, they'll devour her, flesh and bone, to enhance their own powers.
When Wardens from another clan arrive with disturbing reports that something out there is killing both demons and Wardens, Trinity's safe world implodes. Not the least because one of the outsiders is the most annoying and fascinating person she's ever met. Zayne has secrets of his own that will upend her world yet again--but working together becomes imperative once demons breach the compound and Trinity's secret comes to light. To save her family and maybe the world, she'll have to put her trust in Zayne. But all bets are off as a supernatural war is unleashed...
I had read the Dark Elements series and loved it, I loved Layla, Roth and Zayne, but I'm going to say something that people won't agree with...I loved this story a hell of a lot more than the Dark elements.
*throws hands over face*
From the moment I picked up this book I could not put it down, I had to know what was going to happen, I loved Trinity and I love Zayne, and them two together are awesome, and I can not wait to find out what will happen between them again.
I can't wait for the next one, please be June !!!
Happy reading :)

I instantly buy anything of Jennifer's because put simply she is a magician who weaves the most wonderful stories and worlds that you just dive right into. Storm and Fury was everything I have come to expect of Jennifer. It had a kickass but down-to-earth loveable heroine, a brooding, sexy male lead and a great story. Trinity is special and has been hidden from the world. Her power would have beings of all denomination clambering to capture her. Sheltered from the world and always feeling on the outside of the clan of wardens she grew up with Trinity longs for more. She longs for a life outside the compound and to feel love and partnership. Life takes a change of direction when the DC clan visit, especially when Trinitys eyes fall on the handsome Zayne. Zayne has a mysterious past and Trin is drawn to him in a way she cannot explain. Danger is coming, something out there is killing Demons and Wardens and Trin is at the centre of it all. Loyalties are formed and loyalties are crushed. Those she thought she knew are not what they have seemed and those she thought she understood surprise her and make her question all she had been taught. I loved this book, I loved Trin and her feisty curious mind and I loved the world of wardens and demons. Great read and I cannot wait to see where book two takes us.

so much better than the previous series!

I surprisingly really enjoyed this book, the author reigned in her 'Over-the-top' romance that annoyed me so much in the Dark elements trilogy, although towards the end I could see it starting to creep in! The slow burn, sexual chemistry was really great, although I'd love characters to be a bit older π
This was an easy read, I wasn't bored but not a stand out plot. It had a good twist at the end that I didn't see coming ( I really underestimated the author after the DE series, didnt I? Sorry!!).
Character-wise I really liked Trinity, she's impulsive, slightly selfish but an overall likeable character and much more interesting that Layla was, and Zayne has improved.
One of the characters has a medical condition I haven't seen in a book before which was really interesting to learn about (although it's not properly explained until very late in the book). Even though the author herself has this condition, the things the character did seemed a little ridiculous at times (able to hand to hand fighting but would then trip over pavements), but it is a fantasy novel I guess (may have sat better with me if her powers helped compensate rather than just instinct and practice), still I love to see diversity and more awareness of medical conditions!
Fyi-It does reveal quite a few spoilers for the dark elements series so you may want to read them first.

I didnt know this book was a spin off to another series and although I haven't read the other series I didn't feel like I was missing out on much as everything was explained beautifully as I went along. The beginning was a bit slow to start with but it didn't bore me or anything I just wanted to dive straight in to all the action asap π as I'm impatient. I loved the slow burn of the main characters romance, nothing's rushed its just going at a normal organic speed. We had a few twists and turns I didn't see coming π΅ love when that happens. although the lead can be immature at times she totally owns it and fully understands she can be a bit of a brat (her own words lol). Lots of interesting characters and storylines I'm so glad I stumbled across this book.
I really enjoyed this read and will definitely be reading book 2 to see what happens next. Hopefully won't have a slow a start as book 1.
Worth the read π

What an excellent start to another amazing storyline about other worlds. We have met some of the characters before, and it is great to catch up with them. Especially Roth and Layla. This is Zanye and Trinity adventures. Trinity has special powers and is much sort after by some extremely unsavoury characters, but she has a bonded protector. Zayne is a warden, who has loved but lost, however both he and Trinity feel they have a connection. The story can be read as a starter, but it is great to continue reading great authorβs work. She herself has many hurdles to jump, as well as write. Hence her great vision of word, imagination and insight. Once the book is started it is difficult to put down, However rests are necessary, to digest the book. It has drama, love interests, intrigue and deep passion. It also has war and demon violence, but not so graphic that it is unnecessary. Well worth 5 stars now I await with patient the next instalment.
