Forget any of the other cheapie plastic flat LED lights you can get for keychains - this blows everything else away and for those who aren't yet familiar with bang-up-to-date LED technology, this little feller is MUCH more powerful than the old lightbulb AAA Mini Maglites we all used to like so much, and the batteries last a LOT longer and it is a LOT smaller. No need for replacement bulbs any more because these LEDs just don't fail.
Once you get one you will wonder how you managed without it - finding keyholes, looking for dropped items in the dark / cinemas / under sofas, finding your dog's poop in the dark for bagging on night walks, etc.. And of course it is there for reassurance should any nightmare emergency in a subway, etc. occur as it really does give out a useful amount of light. It is so tiny and so capable and so useful and so cheap and so nice that it is just not worth NOT carrying one.
One trick I have learned which I would like to pass on. I initially spent a fair few frustrating minutes trying to re-load fresh batteries by dropping them in one after the other into the unscrewed barrel of the torch. Infuriatingly, they flip over when you try to drop them in the right way round, but don't when you drop them in backwards! The obvious way to do it is to stack the batteries up the right way round on a tabletop, place the barrel of the torch over the stack, slide it over to the edge and place a finger as it passes over the edge to stop the batteries falling out, and then turn the barrel up the right way and screw the light assembly back on. Obvious perhaps, but it took me a while to get it myself.
Having said that I still recommend it if you are looking for a tiny unobtrusive emergency source of light.
The Nanolight is very small and produces a bright enough beam for close-up work. I wouldn't rely on this for walking outside at night, but for confined spaces I think this is a good option. My girlfriend seems happy with it and I was impressed with the build quality. It has a nice form factor and it's simple to operate (no fancy multiple lighting modes) and would be great to hang off a backpack or as a backup to my own EDC.
It's perfect size for putting on a key ring and using it at night when looking in your car or leaving your vehicle at night.
The batteries that were included have lasted 3 months so far so that's good. You simply turn it off and on by twisting the top of the torch.
It's really small in size about half the size of a normal thumb but puts our a really bright illuminating light for such a small device. I would definitely recommend and buy again.
For the size of it, the amount of light it gives out is great. The twist to turn on is also really good because it means the light won't switch on in your pocket either.
From reviews, I gather that the colour tends to come off these torches (this hasn't happened with mine yet, I haven't had it long) but the torch is that good, I don't think that should put anybody off.
This is a great keyring torch and I'd definitely recommend it.
