If you like Romantic suspense story’s then this is for you. The climax is exactly that, climatic! The buildup and final HEA is great. The hero and heroine have known each other from childhood. Both are likeable and it’s nice to see their relationship grow.

I did not read the first book in the series, but this book was free and the description sounded good.
The storyline and chemistry were good, the only thing that bothered me were mistakes of what they were wearing in one scene and then had changed in the next. There were a few other things that hadn’t been caught by the editor and so I have to take away one star. The other thing was Estelles parents and the issues made for a side story that in the end didn’t really have anything to do with her decision IMO. It just added extra drama.

I might check out other books in this series.

Way to write a story here! If I was an Author I'd wanna be like LK Shaw......she gives all the feels with her books and 99% of the time she gets me in some way! I mean not like I don't love it because honestly I like having a story that's not the same old formula all the time.....I have the patience of a 2 year old on a sugar high, lol.
But about the story.....Estelle has maybe, possibly had a thing for Victor all these years. But for a woman who doesn't trust relationships or any kind of love it's never gonna happen. When life throws a curve at her and it's Victor to the rescue can these two manage to overcome her past, keep her safe and still have some kind of a relationship??? Absolutely loved this and if you haven't read book one you'll be fine, only thing is now you'll want to go dive into it as well! Highly recommend this!!

I was reading this during a very busy time for me. I could not stop reading it. I just had to know what was going to happen next. Wow wow wow!!! So Good! Victor so reminds me of my husband in personality. And the way he treats Estelle. So many emotions right now. You can tell that Victor is so in love with Estelle. It comes through with his actions. It is such a romantic book. The suspense is palpable. If you love a great Romantic Suspense you Have to get this book! From a True Fan... Pam James.

I jumped into this book for an online book club experience. I am SOOOO glad I read it! I typically do not read police story lines, but LK Shaw has hooked me. I am going back to purchase the first book and can't wait for Atonement to be released.

A family of police officers working against the underbelly of Chicago, doing their best to stay alive, keep their connections close and help the good prevail. I loved how close the family was (even in their disagreements), I loved how they kept good friends close and did their best to keep them safe. The underlying love story had hot moments and swoon worthy feelings! I have spent time in Chicago and could picture the locations as LK wrote about them. You know the author is a great one if they truly can transport you into the world they are writing about. LK does just that with her spell-bounding writing. I highly recommend this series to all that are looking for a mystery, love, and family connections.

If you need a good fast thrill ride Striking Distance is the one for you. The second in the Love Undercover series but you'll understand it without reading the first. Love blossoms between the two main characters after knowing each other for years, friends to lovers like. The characters are fleshed out, there are so many points in this story that I wanted to cry for Estelle, she deserves her hearts desire in Victor.
