What an excellent book. Fuelling a roller coaster of emotions from the outright hilarious to some really poignant moments.
There's so much in this book for a young reader and, as a parent, it's highly recommended to read with your kid.
I read with a 9 year old but there's plenty in this for adults to enjoy.
My son reads a lot and I read plenty with him. This is by far one of the best books we've read.
David O'Doherty is an excellent stand up and this shows what an all round excellent writer he is.

While this book is aimed at 10/12 year olds, that did not stop me ordering a copy for myself (39) and a friend of mine (37), as we are huge David O'Doherty fans! 'The Summer I Robbed a Bank' is such a wonderfully written book, peppered with humour and beautiful descriptions of Achill Island. I loved every page. It is a heart-warming and fun read and I would highly recommend it to adults and children alike!
