To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Setup is pretty easy, cables were all long enough for me to set cameras on each corner of my house. Comes with a mouse for the dvr & an hdmi cord which is nice. Definitely need to find & download the manual so you know how to adjust the settings properly. Previous review says Swann logo cannot be removed but it can. You just open the main menu, go to system, select disable for the watermark. I had an issue with the password initially... I entered the password I had set but it said it was wrong. I had to call to get the information on how to set a new password. I think that Swann should include the links to download the manual & the instructions for resetting the password in the startup guide that comes with but that is my only complaint so far.
DVR stopped working after a couple of days. Unable to record, see playbacks or connect to neither a monitor nor tv via HDMI or VGA, tried everything and their customer support team will not replace they keep telling me it is a mismatch resolution, when nothing they tell me to try is working. The HDD light won’t light up and the mouse light is off as well. Tried connecting the mouse elsewhere and worked fine. The HDMI cable works fine too so it’s not the cable. The problem is the DVR and they don’t want to admit it and will not help me fix this issue. Horrible customer service!
I had a SWANN system for over 5 years and it finally went out. I took the opportunity to upgrade to newer cameras with better resolution. I am very happy. Picture is good and the App installs with no headaches. I tried a ZOSI system and it was junk. I could never get the app to work and there is literally no customer support. Buy Swann
we purchased this new and had issues pairing it to our mobile phone. turns out someone bought it before and returned it and had paired their phone and access to our videos! very very unsettling, we thought we were buying a new item.
POOR customer service especially on chat. Hold time on phone was 15 minutes just to speak to a live person. After sending required documentation for warranty claim, they said I did not include a particular item. They did not require it initially then wanted to change their tune. Hard to get warranty support! Do not purchase this product!! On the flip side, daytime picture quality is fairly good. IR is horrible.
