Nachdem schon einige andere das klingeln, klackern bei der DS720 festgestellt haben, habe ich heute die DS920+ erhalten und es bleibt bei dem Problem. Ich stelle es auch bei der DS920+ fest. Ganz wichtig, erst ohne Festplatten eingeschaltet, da es sonst von den Platten übertönt wird. Falls später die Festplatten in den Ruhemodus gehen, wird man es wieder hören. Das angehängte Video muss man etwas lauter machen. Die Aufnahme wurde im Laufwerksschacht gemacht. Natürlich kann man sagen, es ist nicht so laut. Das ändert aber auch nichts daran, dass die Lüfter etwas machen, was sie nicht machen sollten. Wird es noch lauter werden mit der Zeit?
Ich habe alle DS720+ und DS920+ wieder zurück geschickt. Der Synology Support hat alle Infos und Audiodateien bekommen und auch alle Links von anderen Käufern, die das selbe festgestellt haben.

Added 4 x 12TB Ironwolf drives. This is our second Diskstation. The other is a 414+. 6 years old and never missed a beat. This one seems just as solid. Using it for file server, internal web server, and just hooked it up to some surveillance cameras.. Simple connection to Office365 for automated backup of all our O365 docs. The ironwolf drives are a bit noisy - some clicks and rumbles, but seem OK. Previous Western Digital red drives were quieter if this is important to you. By the way it only has a single USB port - the previous one has 2 USB ports allowing automated backups to 2 separate external drives quite easily. Formatted with BTRFS - this lets you take regular snapshots allowing roll backs of files. Almost like a quick and dirty backup of the files. Disk Station Manager - the Operating System - takes a bit of getting used to. 6 years on and we are still learning things. If you have not setup a DS NAS before you must read the manual/online help. Other things to note. There are loads of features that are bundled with DS NAS that need reviewing: Video Station is an excellent alternative to Plex, and it is Free! Ensure that you setup 'The Movie Database' Moments is a Photo storage and access portal - think Google Photos - but on your own network vTigerCRM (offshoot of SugarCRM) is an open source CRM system that would compete with Hubspot if you have the time to set it up, Docker - you can run Ubunto or another Linux Distro inside Docker if you feel the need.
Then there are loads of other tools that you can add, like MariaDB (MySQL), Apache, PHP and Perl, Wordpress. A full blown Office alternative. Basically if you thought you needed a Linux Server you can probably do it out of the box with good tech support on a Synology box.
One last thing, the Operating Systems DSM is actually open source. You can download it and run it on your own box, and get access to all the good stuff that Synology do. Just google Xpenology.
Die DS920+ ist wie bereits die DS918+ ein hervorragendes NAS. Ich habe mir dieses Upgrade gegönnt, um up to date zu sein. Konkrete Vorteile gegenüber der DS918+ habe ich bei der DS920+ allerdings nicht feststellen können. Evtl. reagiert die Benutzoberfläche einen Tick schneller. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Rezensenten klappert bei mir kein Lüfter. Die Migration war ein Kinderspiel: Die vier Festplatten + den SSD-Cache entnehmen und in das neue Geräte einsetzen, beim ersten Start kommt die Frage, ob migriert oder neu eingerichtet werden soll. Danach hat die Migration keine 10 min gedauert und es war alles so eingerichtet, als wenn das Gerät nie gewechselt wurde. Ich bin auch zu Hause von der DS218+ auf die DS720+ umgestiegen mit demselben Fazig.
Schon länger war ich am überlegen mir ein NAS anzuschaffen. Nach kurzer Recherche gab es zwei Hersteller: QNAP und Synology. Warum es nun Synology wurde? Die Software war ausschlaggebend, um es kurz zu machen. Die Oberfläche DSM ist einfach und bietet alles was man braucht und noch viel mehr. Klingt wie ein Werbeslogan ist aber einfach so. Von der vereinfachten Ansicht um nicht erschlagen zu werden wenn man neu im Thema ist bis zu der erweiterten wo man einfach alles einstellen kann. Blitzschnell ist das Gerät eingerichtet und alle Backups oder Media-Server sind erstellt. Auch der Zugriff übers Internet ist dank Synology hauseigene Dienste in windeseile eingerichtet. Klar vielleicht ist dieses NAS für dein privaten Gebrauch ein bisschen überdimensioniert, allerdings hat man dafür genug Luft nach oben. Ich habe noch den RAM von 4GB auf 8GB erweitert. Auch das ist eigentlich nicht nötig. Allerdings werden über die Zeit mehr Nutzer gleichzeitig drauf zugreifen und Dienste nutzen, daher hab ich bei der Preislage für RAM einfach jetzt welchen dazugekauft. Was die Lautstärke angeht, ja die Lüfter hört man sowie die Festplatten. Aber erstens ist dies nicht besonders laut. Mein PC kann da lauter werden und zweitens steht das NAS in einem separaten Raum und ist die Tür zu hört man eh nichts. Persönlich kann ich dieses Produkt nur empfehlen.
If you're looking to take control of your data then nas drives are a great way to do that, as long as you set up correctly, follow the Synology tutorials and YouTube videos for guidance. Took me about 3 hours to set up the way I wanted. I have 3 x4tb drives in with a bay spare for a fourth drive when i have some money. It might take longer for those with less tech experience but the wizard and online guides definitely help.
The only reason I've given it 4 stars is because of the noise when running at night. Now there are ways to get around it like setting a schedule and shutting down every night and starting up again in the morning. Some of the noise might be down to the drives themselves when they are spinning, but even when the drives are idle there is still a noice from the fans. You get used to it quickly as its a constant humming noise but it is something to be aware of depending on where you want to place it.
Enclosure is well built, the software is great and DSM7, the main operating system for the drive, is just around the corner.
Ich verwende seit vielen Jahren Windows-Home-Server. Da mein WHS2011 langsam ans Ende seiner Zeit kommt, wollte ich einmal etwas fertiges nehmen. Meine Wahl viel auf das viel gehypte Synolgy NAS. Um von der Leistung nicht enttäuscht zu sein, habe ich gleich das + Modell genommen. Für was habe ich das NAS geplant: 1. Meine Videos lokal abspielen -> funktioniert 2. Synch der unterwegs gemachten Fotos vom Tablet -> funktioniert (umständlich) 3. Synch diverser Daten die mobil bearbeitet werden -> funktioniert 4. Surveillance Station -> würde funktionieren, habe aber vorher nicht gewusst, dass man nur 2 Kameras kostenlos einbinden kann. Jede weitere kostet mindestens 50 Euro!!!!!!!!!
Die Einrichtung war alles andere als selbsterklärend. Wenn man die Ersteinrichtung auf einem Tablet macht, muss man darauf achten, dass man im Browser nicht die mobile Ansicht an hat, sonst funktioniert das nicht und man kommt auf den nicht eingerichteten DSM.
Das Ding kann sicher viel, jedoch alles eher umständlich. Eventuell bin ich auch nur zu sehr verwöhnt. Man sollte sich jedoch seeeeeehr genau informieren, wie alles funktioniert und was das Ding kann. Ich habe gedacht, dass ich das zur Genüge getan habe. Ich muss jedoch auch sagen, dass diese Beurteilung vermutlich auch auf andere Hersteller anwendbar sein könnte.
Ich behalte das Ding jetzt als Videoserver und Backup und habe mir für meine Nutzungsabsicht eine Nextcloud an einem Pi4 mit SSD installiert. Läuft unsagbar besser und einfacher.
Sollte sich herausstellen, dass ich für dieses "intuitive" System anscheinend nur zu dämlich bin, werde ich die Rezension anpassen.
Die NAS ist weder laut (auch auf höchster Stufe nicht) noch Pipt Sie oder ähnliches. Die Leistung ist top. Aber man sollte die gleich mit den zusätzlichen 4GB RAM aufstocken. Nach dem alles installiert und in betrieb ist gerade bei Video und Photos kommt der Standard RAM an seine Grenzen. CPU, TOP! anders kann ich das nicht sagen. Netzwerk Top, beide Netzwerkkaten lassen sich unterschiedlich einbinden. Beispielsweise: LAN1 Intern und LAN2 Extern. Anders als immer so bekannt gegeben wird ist der MailPlus Server top. Wir setzen Ihn zum erstmal ein und stellen keine Abstiche fest. Zu unserem vorherigen, bei dem wir. wirklich alles einstellen konnten bis ins kleinste Detail. Wir konnten über die LAN2 auf Extern mit Fester IP sogar auf die Video, Audio, File und Photo APPs und können von unterwegs Im Zug oder an Strand Serien und Videos genießen. Kurzgesagt: Die Synology NAS ist Top! Und Ihr Geld wert.
I have been looking for a NAS drive for a while and finally chose to go with Synology. I am delighted that I did following the reviews of many others I chose the DS920+ to give me a bit of longer term flexibility. Set-up couldn't be easier and I am loving Moments to help me sort out many years of photo's. I have managed to set up a linux VM and of course manage shared libraries. All in all I really happy with the Synology NAS and have a lot more features to explore in the coming months.
This is second Synology product. Previous worked for seven years and still does. Its time for an upgrade. Remarkable quality, durability and simplicity. DSM software rocks. Highly recommended for all personal computers’ enthusiasts. I can stream three 4K movies at the same time. Easy and powerful like Putin.
