This Thunderbolt 3 Device is Absolutely Amazing, but with some Reservations about many Thunderbolt 3 Devices and their Ability to Work with Windows vs Apple. The NVMe slot is a dream for all Tech savvy users. The Glow Lighting is much more delicate than MOST of the RGB Lighting that has insulted our eyes for years.I have purchased a few TB3 Devices now and have experienced results that are both compelling and appalling with Windows Based PC'S. Finding Software/Firmware that makes these High End Devices work is at Best Obtuse. I Sent my Amazon purchased FireCuda Dock back to the Manufacturer after they could not troubleshoot it over the phone nor even remotely. They said they would replace it but suggested that MSI (my new notebook- Prestige 15 )had updated firmware for TB3.
I had already spent innumerable Hours with MSI, Seagate and Intel.I had earlier sent my Notebook back to MSI together with a smaller TB3 External NVMe SSD and they said it worked fine after resetting Windows (which I had done 3 times myself - with no positive result)
My Daughters Macbook Pro 2020 recognised this device.The New Firmware does not work. I need help right now , like the Luke's Graham Song.

The ad for the 500 gb stated "maximum sequential read and write speeds up to 5000MB/s and 4400MB/s". Not correct, write is only 2500MB/s. A Samsung Pro 500GB is 6900 5000

Also Festplatte ist aktuell seit 2 Wochen in Betrieb. Übertragungsrate von meiner alten PS4 auf die Festplatte war sehr gut (hab mir eine PS4 Pro geholt und hatte davor eine 3TB Festplatte verbaut). Preis fand ich auch Akzeptabel.
Und nun zu den schlechten Bewertungen vor mir die sagen die Festplatte geht nach maximal paar Monaten kaputt, man muss halt unbedingt daran denken unter Energiespareinstellungen die Option unter „Im Ruhemodus verfügbare Optionen“ -> „USB Ports mit Strom versorgen“ auf „dauerhaft“ zu stellen oder die PS immer nur ausschalten und NIEMALS in den Ruhe Modus setzen, denn wählt man bei der Stromversorgung im Ruhemodus „Nie“ oder „3 Stunden“ an ist ja kalt damit die Externe Festplatte bald das zeitliche segnet wenn man Die PS in den Ruhemodus versetzt.....

Just go to storage through settings on ps5 it will ask you to format once that's done go to your library and download all your ps4 games best to do one at a time. I currently have about 30 games installed on it and they all work fine I really don't need my ps4 pro anymore this is definitely worth buying. Make sure to use the USB,s on the back of the ps5 for faster speed connection 👍

L HD si presenta di buona fattura. Sarà solo necessario collegarlo alla play e seguire le istruzioni per l installazione. Ormai questi strumenti diventano indispensabili per l archiviazione di giochi che altrimenti richiederebbero una continua installazione per la vastità delle patch di aggiornento. Premetto che è molto poco rumoroso e che scalda poco (certo se si gioca 8 ore di fila scalda abbastanza ma non eccessivamente da fondere il centrino della nonna su cui lo apppoggerete xD).
AGGIORNAMENTO 1: non sarà compatibile con Ps5 almeno al lancio poiché la velocità di trasferimento dati non sarà sufficiente per la next Gen, che richiederà invece l uso di un hd interno di cui sony deve ancora far sapere costo e data di lancio. Su ps5 funzionerà collegandolo alle porte usb sul retro della console ma servirà solo a giocare a giochi ps4 installati sullo stesso.
Spostare su questo HD giochi o installarli da zero, richiede pochissimo tempo in più che installarli nella memoria interna. Ricordate che gli aggiornamenti dei vari giochi potranno essere scaricati solo manualmente però, dunque appena accendere te la play sarete voi a dover ricercare un eventuale aggiornamento di un dato gioco.
AGGIORNAMENTO 2: OTTIMO HARD DISK ANCHE PER PC E MAC: per non sbagliare ne ho comprato un altro sempre da 4tb che ho collegato al macbook pro. La velocità di trasferimento è altissima (250mb/s circa) quindi resta un prodotto eccezionale anche per l archiviazione via computer. Il primo l ho acquisto quasi 6 mesi fa e continua a funzionare al massimo dello stress (8 ore al gg circa) attaccato alla console con 1tb di giochi installati dentro.
Prodotto che consiglio mille volte per ALTA VELOCITÀ TRASFERIMENTO DATI, PRATICITÀ, AUTOALIMENTAZIONE, RESISTENZA E DESIGN!!

A solid buy for my ps5.

Not a real lot to say here, after all it's just a hard disk.

I needed to buy an external drive for my ps5 as the SSD included with the console is tiny given the size of games.

I didn't want to buy a external SSD as they're too pricey per-GB right now, I had a 2TB from my PS4 but figured I would need a bigger one at one point (as managed to nearly fill it with psvr games) so I bought this 4TB one.

You can play PS4 titles direct from the harddrive but not ps5 games, you can however move ps5 games that your not currently playing to the harddrive essentially archiving them until you want to play them again freeing up space one the internal SSD, apparently moving from external to internal storage is a lot faster then redownloading the game again.

The drive is quiet and I've had no issues with it so far (had it a few months now). Installation was simply a case of plugging it in and formatting it in the ps5 settings (in the storage section).

I paid £84.99 (I think) and it was a pretty solid purchase, nothing to complain about.

July 2021 edit:-
Just thought I would add in the event you are getting ready for your shiney new ps5 to arrive, you can install all your current PS4 games from your PS4 console and this harddrive will plug and play without needing to be formatted, all your installed games will be ready to roll/play on your ps5 straight away (your ps5 will also set itself up to install PS4 content automatically to the external harddrive from then onwards)

Buy with confidence.

Depuis peu la PS5 offre la possibilité de rattacher un disque dur externe et celui ci est directement reconnu et utilisable par simple branchement (la console vous proposera de la formater avant première utilisation)

Ce qui est possible :
- Transférer vos jeux PS5 dessus (mais pas de les lancer) il faudra le remettre sur le ssd de la console mais ça reste plus rapide que de le retélécharger/réinstaller.
- Transférer vos jeux PS4 et de les lancer pour y jouer directement et il est là le réel intérêt vu que la PS5 est rétrocompatible PS4. Gardez vos jeux PS5 sur le SSD et les jeux PS4 sur cette extension, avec ses 4 To il y'a de quoi mettre tous vos jeux ps4 et ceux du PS+
- Il est également possible d'installer/télécharger directement vos jeux PS4 sur l'extension (ça evite de devoir les transférer ensuite si besoin).

Un petit icone "usb" apparait à coté du jeu pour vous indiquer qu'il est installé sur le disque dur externe. Ce qui est assez pratique, on sait où est installé chaque jeu en un coup d'œil.

Le disque est silencieux, et ne chauffe pas malgré plusieurs transferts assez lourds réalisés à son installation. Autre point dans les options de la console il est possible de "débrancher le disque dur en toute sécurité" avant de le retirer.

Je recommande sans hésiter ce disque d'extension, notamment pour les joueurs PS5 qui ont beaucoup de jeux PS4, ce qui vous permettra de ne plus avoir à jongler entre installation/désinstallation.

Great value for money

Ordered it yesterday afternoon, received it today in the morning, with Amazon prime option.
Package was spot on, a small dent on the cardoard box but didn't affect the actual product that was packed in its own box
After connecting the external drive the PS4 showed 4001 GB and did not recognise the device.
Easy fix was to go into settings/devices/external storage ,selected the harddrive and Doormat it
This trick fixed the issue and now it shows on the system as it should.
I will come back with an update once I get to use it for a bit. Atm I am copying my games on the external harddrive, and I'll be honest it's not the fastest speed. For around 200 GB it shows 94 Min copying time...so don't expect to be as fast as an SSD

Simple et efficace

Bien que possédant essentiellement des jeux en version physique, le disque dur d’origine de la PS4 pro se remplissait peu à peu car même si les jeux « tiennent » sur leur disque respectif, de nombreuses données (mise à jour/patchs par exemple) sont installées et prennent rapidement beaucoup de place (plusieurs dizaines de Go pour des jeux AAA).

Fort de ses 4 To, ce disque dur permet au joueur de ne plus se soucier de l’espace de stockage disponible (ou presque). Des dizaines et des dizaines de jeux (aussi bien physique que dématérialisés) pourront être installés sans crainte de voir le disque dur saturé.

Avant la première utilisation, une analyse à l’aide du logiciel CrystalDiskInfo n’a rien révélé d’anormal.

L’utilisation/configuration est on ne plus simple, pour pouvoir l’utiliser en tant que stockage étendu, il faut au préalable le formater en tant que tel via les paramètres de la console (Paramètres-Périphériques-Périphériques de stockage USB). La procédure est simple et rapide.
Dès lors l’utilisateur aura le choix de l’emplacement d’installation des futurs jeux (disque dur interne ou externe) et pourra s’il le souhaite déplacer les jeux/applications déjà installés vers l’un ou l’autre. Cette fonction se fait très aisément (elle s’apparente à un classique copier/coller). Ce déplacement des applications/jeux est très rapide.
Attention toutefois a bien connecter le périphérique DIRECTEMENT à l’un des ports USB de la PS4 (et non à un HUB par exemple), dans le cas contraire un message d’erreur s’affichera et le périphérique sera alors inutilisable.

Le disque me parait un peu plus volumineux en terme de dimensions que les autres disques dur de 2.5 pouces, notamment au niveau de sa hauteur.
Son design rappelle bien évidemment (et heureusement) celui de la PS4 et de son interface.

Le câble USB fourni est suffisamment long (30cm environ une fois tendu) pour permettre au joueur de le placer à bonne distance de la console et de pouvoir le dissimuler au besoin dans un coin du meuble TV.

Si tout autre disque dur de moins de 8 To aurait été compatible avec la console, il n’en reste pas moins que le design et l’utilisation de celui-ci est totalement en raccord avec l’appareil sur lequel il est branché.

Produit (presque) indispensable pour profiter pleinement de sa PS4 et ne plus se soucier de l’espace de stockage disponible.

Perfect for my PS4

I simply plugged the Seagate in, told my PS4 under Settings/Devices that it was there and lo, there I was with a 4TB extension to my PS4’s storage.

My only criticism is that the PS4 can’t use the Seagate if need to use one of those USB port doubling devices between the PS4 and the External drive. I have to use the PS4’s original USB 3 port. But that’s the fault of the PS4, not the Seagate.

One tip - the Seagate, being small and light, is very easily moved around. I have it on the top of my PS4 due to space limitations. Therefore to stop it getting knocked off the PS4 for any reason and damaged, I have the Seagate securely stuck down with a lump of Blu-Tak. A surpisingly effective solution as it turns out.

Ho acquistato questo Hard disk semplicemente perchè ho due playstation 4 in casa (e due figli), e ne avevo già uno identico collegato alla console principale da quasi due anni, e, per ora, non ho avuto alcun problema, mentre alla secondaria avevo collegato un Hd da 1TB che si è corrotto ed è diventato illeggibile, ed ha determinato la perdita di tutto il contenuto.
Mi è arrivato perfettamente imballato nella scatola originale, protetto da un cartone Amazon e da carta aggiuntiva, imballato alla perfezione.
L'hd arriva ready to use, ma per scrupolo (lo faccio sempre), l'ho collegato al computer per verificare che fosse nuovo, l'ho registrato per la garanzia e per verificare che non vi fossero contraffazioni, ed ho fatto qualche test. Non è un HD velocissimo, va detto, comunque, almeno da nuovo, non ha alcun settore danneggiato, ed ha superato il test S.M.A.R.T.
Utilizzato come memoria estesa su ps4, su cui abbiamo scaricato, fra i giochi, anche la demo di COD Black Ops cold war, mio marito ha passato la serata a giocarci con mio figlio grande e non si è lamentato: per ora funziona perfettamente senza creare eccessivi rallentamenti al sistema anche con giochi pesanti.
Come da mia premessa, la mia scelta è stata orientata dal fatto di possederne già uno che non ha dato problemi, pertanto, dopo averci messo quasi tre giorni a recuperare anni di giochi dal play store, ho preferito stare sul sicuro, per quanto esistano soluzioni più economiche.
Mi riservo comunque di aggiornare la mia recensione in caso di eventuali malfunzionamenti o perdita di dati, al momento comunque non posso che consigliare questo prodotto (proprio perchè ho scelto di riacquistarlo.)

Really nice, solid design, and provides double the storage possible for an internal hard drive for the PS4. I've got a 2tb hard drive inside the PS4, and this excellent 4tb external hard drive. As with all hard drives, the way GB are calculated means that 2tb amounts to 1.7 tb in actual storage, and 4tb amounts to about 3.5 GB of actual storage.
