This Thunderbolt 3 Device is Absolutely Amazing, but with some Reservations about many Thunderbolt 3 Devices and their Ability to Work with Windows vs Apple. The NVMe slot is a dream for all Tech savvy users. The Glow Lighting is much more delicate than MOST of the RGB Lighting that has insulted our eyes for years.I have purchased a few TB3 Devices now and have experienced results that are both compelling and appalling with Windows Based PC'S. Finding Software/Firmware that makes these High End Devices work is at Best Obtuse. I Sent my Amazon purchased FireCuda Dock back to the Manufacturer after they could not troubleshoot it over the phone nor even remotely. They said they would replace it but suggested that MSI (my new notebook- Prestige 15 )had updated firmware for TB3.
I had already spent innumerable Hours with MSI, Seagate and Intel.I had earlier sent my Notebook back to MSI together with a smaller TB3 External NVMe SSD and they said it worked fine after resetting Windows (which I had done 3 times myself - with no positive result)
My Daughters Macbook Pro 2020 recognised this device.The New Firmware does not work. I need help right now , like the Luke's Graham Song.

The ad for the 500 gb stated "maximum sequential read and write speeds up to 5000MB/s and 4400MB/s". Not correct, write is only 2500MB/s. A Samsung Pro 500GB is 6900 5000

Recommended external storage

Plugged into rear USB port of PS4 Pro, instantly recognised and asked to format as external storage space -- easy.

All downloaded games now go to the Seagate external drive and the option for transferring games already installed on the internal drive is available through the Settings menu.

This has helped free the internal drive up, meaning less heat internally, and my family/household can access a broad range of games using game sharing without me needing to log in repeatedly for them to delete/download.

I recommend these over SSD's for PS4 consoles and games. They load the game at a reasonable speed and this benefits games that can become unstable/buggy when loaded too fast.

Tip:
I used small pieces of white Blu-tack to allow the drive to grip the surface of where it was placed. This helped to stop it sliding around and dampens vibration when in use.

Note:
The cable that comes with these is a: USB 3.0 A-Male to Micro-B

Well, from a woman who can and has put a phone sim card in the wrong way this extended storage device was perfect for me. 🤣

Super easy to set up and get going. It was much more memory then I needed but its great as my son has used it for a lot of his PlayStation games and I have all my pictures and videos from my old phone on it.
It's easy to move around from device to device which I really liked. The item does hum a little, like most electronics, but the noise isn't something that you would notice, im simply mentioning it for the sake of the review. It doesn't seem to get hot, which is important.
It arrived quickly and securely.
I would buy this product again, if It ever runs out of storage that is. 🙂

With modern games, PS4's (or consoles and PC's in general) have their memories filled in moments with game data installations and updates. I found this Seagate drive and purchased it, plugged it into my PS4, ensured it was formatted correctly by the PS4, changed the Storage settings to Extended Storage and voila! I now have a 4TB removable (Caution: follow removal guidelines carefully to not corrupt data) Hard Drive. And you can use more by swapping them (see caution above). This means you can place all your massive downloads for say The Sims, or any online MMO's, on to one drive and remove them to plug in smaller games saved to another drive. Of course 4TB should be big enough to save most of your game installations if you are not a big gamer, but the option is there and you can afford another one of these.

J'ai ce disque dur depuis 2-3 semaines actuellement et j'en suis très content. Je ne vois aucune différence avec un disque interne, j'ai environ 50-55 jeux et j'ai que 2TO de consommé. Il est tout le temps branché sur ma ps4 pro.

Les mise à jour se télécharge bien, juste la copie qui peut prendre du temps. IL ne fait pas de bruit ne chauffe pas beaucoup et reste très design.

Point important : Une fois le disque formaté pour le stockage étendu, il y a 40 go qui partent sans savoir pourquoi.

Je recommande vivement.

I was concerned it would be hard to install after reading some reviews but I put it in and yes it said this device is not compatible so I then went to storage under options and clicked on format with x button and after a couple minutes it was working fine so don't be put off by not compatible warning it is basically just saying it needs formatted which is done very easily in two minutes.

Only quibble is that after formatting it says 3.69 TB remaining not the 4tb I was expecting thankfully I'm sure 3.69 will do me. I'm presuming it has something to do with formatting which then reduces available memory.

Downloaded my first game onto it gta v and it works great. I'm very pleased. Will still be able to fit about 30 high end games e.g COD and GTA memory hogging games so should be more than sufficient.

Took a minute to format. I used it to download all the ps4 games from the library so the kids can play them on the ps5. It took the best part of a day, but I assume that’s only because I didn’t have the patience to download them individually, and decided to queue them up instead. In any case, a fantastic, pocket-sized hard drive. I’m amazed!

I bought this to go with a PS5 and specifically to copy games from a PS4 to the PS5.

I popped the drive into the PS5, let it format it for extended storage and then popped it into the PS4, which recognised the drive as extended storage and let me move games to the drive

When finished, all the games were available on the PS5.

Dato che ormai i giochi occupano molti GB e che le console, anche le top come PS4 Pro, vengono prodotte con un solo Terabyte di archiviazione e, soprattutto, dato che ho molti giochi, sono stato quasi costretto ad acquistare un HD esterno per non dover ogni 3x2 cancellare qualche gioco per far spazio a quelli nuovi.

Avrei potuto prendere un HD usb 3 qualsiasi e risparmiare qualcosina ma ho preferito prendere questo Seagate concepito appositamente per fungere da memoria esterna di archiviazione per ps4.

ora ho 5 TB complessivi e addio problemi di spazio.

installazione immediata e rapidissima, facilità di configurazione come memoria principale sulla quale installare i nuovi contenuti.

l'unico piccolo problema, ma è un problema di Sony, è che non è attivo l'auto download degli aggiornamenti dei giochi all'avvio della console ma bisogna controllare manualmente oppure ce ne si accorge quando si avvia il gioco.

acquisto consigliatissimo in ogni caso.

Excellent hard drive for the PS5. Was initially really annoyed when I bought the PS5 and CoD: Warzone took up a monumental amount of space. We don't play that regularly, but then it takes so long to download. Catch 22. After buying this HDD though the storage capacity is massive on the PS5.

One thing to be wary of at the moment is the PS5 CANNOT store PS5 games on the HDD (this is a Sony decision at present, nothing to do with the HDD). Any games brought over from the last generation will be stored fine, which isn't as big an issue as it sounds so early into the new generation. I would say it was definitely worth the purchase.
