To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The majority of reviews for this product are in fact for a different device and have no relevance at all to this device.
Although the case is strong and the system feels "quality" the CD system is clearly a cheap Chinese knock off, for example it has a clock on it (why?) and you cannot set it with the remote, indeed the remote has buttons that do nothing at all! It starts in "not going to play CDs" mode and you have to set it going from the rather stupid dial on the box or via remote control, even if you have just inserted a CD, I mean, what do you think I want to do with it? I contacted the company for better documentation after I found that there is no manual for this device on their website (which is purely about selling the various products) - No reply
No power button on the front and if you switch it off at the back then it reverts to "not going to play CD" mode. Perhaps as part of an Integrated system this might be a useable item but frankly it has a poorer quality interface than stuff that used to cost Thirty quid in 1990.
No SACD, Doesn't like MP3 CDs with subdirectories and annoys you every time by needing to be reset to play CDs.
I also contacted the seller and got no reply, great customer service - NOT.
I was putting together a separates stereo system a mix of vintage kit and new amplifier and cd player. Righto then this is a review for the TIBO 1435 CD player not the amp of tuner or anything else ! . I admit I did not intend to buy this CD player as I could only see a couple of reviews about it all the rest seemed to be for other things made by TIBO and they are all lumped together is it to make it seem like they have sold a shed load of units ?. not a great thing when considering making a purchase !! To be honest I was trying to buy a different C.D player that was £80.00 more expensive than this one on the morning I made my purchase but Amazon decided for some strange reason that they could not delver it to my usual delivery destination , my home. so I tried my local post office as an alternative but no go with that either, I tried to order several times without being able to and was getting more than a little peeved, I tried customer service to find out what the hell was going on ?..not being able to speak with a human that time of the morning and only able to get the useless problem Auto Bot thing that they use to supposedly answer any questions , that never does,,, I thought screw it and bought this C.D player instead as I needed to get off to work and time was running away, while it is not the one I wanted it does the job , it may not have any whistles and bells but it sounds o.k , the remote is tiny and does not fell like it is a quality bit of kit but at this price ? it is not the most intuitive player to use and having the power button on the back rather than the front is just plain daft ...why , who thought that out ? if you want to know what everything on it (there is not much ) does you need to go online and look because the instruction book is tiny and is just a basic get you started guide , it does have a USB input as well but I have not tried that yet . Like I said the CD player works , it sounds good , not great, but good, and it is a basic unit at a basic price, ohhh and it is a shame they do not make a sliver one, overall at the moment I am happy with my purchase and thanks to Amazon playing up and farting about I am £ 80.00 better off
I purchased what was described as a quality product to support a UK company, a mistake. Zero response to date from Tibo customer services, possibly because they are very busy ! CD appears to rotate continuously even when on standby causing an irritating constant whirring. The clock when unplugged from power is not battery back needing resetting when powered up more irritating when the CD mechanism is constantly running and you are trying to stop it... A poor experience, I'm off to the post office to return the unit a further waste of my time :(
I was so disappointed with this product that I simply boxed it up and returned it the next day. I bought it because it was advertised as playing back WAV files via USB. It did not play back any WAV files on USB devices that I plugged into it. The worst part was yet to come. When I played back regular CDs it paused briefly between tracks that were joined together on a CD such as live recordings or the Beatles Sgt Pepper, the same way most mp3 players do. I have never known any CD player do that before. Mp3 files yes, regular CD files, no. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The worst CD Player I have had the misfortune to have used.
Bought this to replace my TEAC player which had suddenly decided that it got bored of what it was laying after a couple of minutes and stopped playing. I had bought TIBO speakers last year and qas very pleased with them, so I opted for the TIBO player.
As far as loos, build, sound quality, functionality, etc., it is very good and will suit anyone looking for a basic CD/MP3 player. It plays standard audio CDs, MP3 CDs and can play music from a USB Memory stick appropriately formatted with MP3 music files on.
The only complaints I have about the unit, which ios worth mentioning, is that the front jog wheel which acts as play, FF, RW, track skip has a coloured ring which can be changed on the remote only, from red, blue, green and off. However when you turn the unit off, if you have the ring set to off, it turns on with a red colour. The LCD clock is okay, but difficult to see unless you are directly in front of it, and if you physically turn the device off using the switch on the back, you have to reset the clock again when you turn it on, which is annoying.
The USB port on the back is also very close to the optical out, so if you have a high quality optical cable with a decent thick plug, you can find that some chunkier USB memory sticks won't fit. The one I have trouble with is a USB/CD card adapter which I frequently use having a stash of SD cards. This will plug in, the the cable locks me using the SD cards in it. It can also on ver4y rare occasions be twitchy if there is something in the MP3 file it doesn't like, and will suddenly stop. I've only encountered this a couple of times and reprocessing the MP3 file ona computer with GoldWave or Audacity fixed the problem.
Also, it can't display CD Text or MP3 filenames, so you are stuck with basic track and folder numbers.
As a basic unit, you can't go much wrong with this if you're just looking to play CDs and MP3s.
This CD player is neatly designed, looks good, and is easy to use.
But the CD player inserts gaps between tracks. This means it is hopeless for playing operas where you have tracks embedded in continuous play of music. Because the music's continuity is broken everytime you pass a new track. It does not feature 'gapless' playback. Therefore if you want to play classical probably best avoided.
Given how good the TiboTIi435DAB/FM tuner is I thought this would be an upgrade for my 30 year old Rotel CD player.... Oh dear how wrong can you be? Feeding a Denon X4700 this is not worth listening to - course unmusical sound and manages to frequently miss the 1st second of a new track. Not worth the money and swiftly on its way back to Amazon..... Shame because the TI435DAB tuner is a delight.....
Purchased this CD player to replace a 20 year old cambridge audio unit which has had a failure of the laser pick up and would no longer read the discs Compared to the old cambrige unit the difference in sound quality is very poor vocals are inistinct and the general sound lacks depth and detail also seems to skip /jump whilst playing , im am using a cambridge amp and Bi wired wharfdale diamond speakers connected with gale elecronics bi wire cable so quality kit which gives superb sound reproduction with my rega phono deck and incidently a tibo DAB tuner which is excellent needless to say im very dissapointed with this product although it looks like aquality piece of kit nice chassis and heavy brass front i can only assume the audio components inside are of inferior quality , i guess at the end of the day you only get what you pay for
A very good quality product and worth the money and work ‘s well the optical and the coaxial out on this product do not work with my system it just might be not compatible i am yousing hi quality phono to connect the item sounds great.
