There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
Did some speed tests before and after and saw a 15-20% increase from my ISP router so happy about that.
Only had it about 10 days though.

Firstly I imagined that it was designed for placing on the wall, or ceiling. It certainly looks like it's built to fit in with the decor of a modern home, similar to the nest smoke alarms, etc. Anyway it's not at all, there are no fixings at all, and the cable entry points mean that the cables couldn't be hidden even if you buy one of the aftermarket brackets available. It would be nice if there was a way to have the cables exit from the back. Anyway, on to more disappointments.
When setting up the main Deco M9, the one that plugs into your home "modem" there are a few things you must know. Firstly it can only be setup using the app on a phone/tablet. This is not the end of the world as most people have access to a recent IOS or Android phone anyway. The problem lies when the system doesn't follow exactly the steps that it should in the app, (i.e the red light comes on instead of the green one) and you have no way to view any faults, or errors because your wifi is not working!
Secondly, you MUST use a generic DNS, like the google one (126.96.36.199) you can't point it at a specific one of your choosing as it then goes into fault mode and you lose connection with it. Again you have suddenly lost internet connection, and also connection to the unit. This means a reset and setting it all up again. You may ask why you would want to use a specific DNS, and not the one your ISP provides (or Google's 188.8.131.52) the reason for me is that I have my own DNS setup that strips all the adverts from my internet traffic, making pages load faster, and not wasting bandwidth on rubbish I don't want to see. Also with my own DNS I can restrict access to certain sites, and categories to keep the kids from viewing things they shouldn't. Finally, I can if I desire, point certain addresses to a specific page, which is useful for testing and developing websites.
Now these may be things that you can live with, but for me, this lack of setting up how I'd like means that they'll likely be going back for a refund. I will say though that the TP-Link support was very good in helping me determine the cause of the problems, and they did apologies for the lack of functionality.
Reception at the furthest reach of our 300 year old property (walls two feet thick) is within 2 Mbps of the base unit, TV streams seamlessly, a printer that works from anywhere in the property.
My biggest regret is wasting time and money on "easy" options, plug in range extenders which sort of work. Just buy the best and buy it once, it really is superb.
Review from a 70 year old only recently graduated from quill pens, if I can get this kit working anyone can.
Safety issue was that the hub ran very hot as in near skin burning on the underside. This may be because it never configured properly but this alone was a reason for return. Hugely disappointing but clearly other users have experienced no issues.
