I've had this for a while and I hate it. Internet just stops working randomly throughout the day and so usually I have to go to wifi, disconnect then reconnect and it works again. It's frustrating. The speeds are good and its very discrete inside the PC. It would be the perfect network card if I could rely on it but I can't. It doesn't work.

I bought 4 wifi adapters to test and this is one of them.

PRO:
- This works really well out of box, no need to download driver
- Plugged in easily into the slot and it comes with a smaller PCI bracket too

CON:
- Oh boy where to start...how about the $40 price tag that's $15 more than the T3U a USB 3.0 device from TP link that has FASTER speed (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07P6N2TZH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
- The speed just won't match its USB 3.0 brother (18% slower just for down), but up, ping and jitter look fine and match other cards I tested
- It takes two day shipping...comparing to other cards which are one day shipping
- It requires you to install into your computer and only works for PC
- The driver for the Canadian website is missing. You need to go to the global site and when the language selector popped up, don't select Eng or Fren, just close it and you will find the driver

Verdict:
- buy this if you have better luck attaining the speed
- buy this if you don't want something dangling out of your USB port and you want it to travel easily with your machine
- Buy this if you are willing to spend more $

Its like it has a mind of its own, sometimes connects only to 2.4ghz, not 5ghz, or doesnt want to connect at all.

Drops connections, adds ping spikes/time outs on the tests i did to my router, etc... i couldn't stand it for more than 2 hours on my pc, half of which it didnt work.

I tried everything, other PCIE slots, disable firewall/antivirus, resets, restarts, driver reinstall, relearn networks, etc. all a waste of time. Oh and i am using a fairly new TP-Link router too...

I wanted to replace my good old 10$ usb wifi dongle with this, but its not worth the waste of time

DRIVER FIX FOR WINDOWS 10: If you want this to work, forget the original driver. Install the Realtek RTL8812AE Windows 8 x64 driver and force your device to use it.

I ordered this product, it didn't work very well, ordered a replacement, and it's a bit better (but still not perfect.)

First one: Most drivers were super unreliable and had awful speeds 99% of the time. The Realtek driver fixed it, mostly. It made 2.4 GHz always fast, but 5 GHz sometimes slow (1Mb/s). I was usually able to fix it by unscrewing one antenna, turning off wifi, screwing it back in, and turn wifi back on.

Second one: Much better. Again, other drivers don't work well, only this one does. Occasionally 5GHz speeds drop to 10Mb/s, which I can usually fix by pushing on the adapter a bit and restarting my PC.

Will keep monitoring how well it works, eventually might just have to switch to AC1300 or AC1900. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you don't try the AC1200 unless it's much cheaper.

Oh, and it's way better than a USB wifi adapter. Same speeds but connection is much more reliable. I can actually play CSGO now.

Really Disappointing

Installed this product and the problems began. I set it up in a PC half a meter from the router and could only connect at 2.4 Ghz - it is supposed to be dual band (2.4 & 5 Ghz). So I installed it in another PC and placed it next to the router and had the same result. BTW the router is a dual band router and has other devices connected at 5 Ghz.

I resolved to give it a try at 2.4 Ghz. With the 2nd PC placed next to the router my speeds (with my ISP) were down = 5.0 Mbps up = 20 Mbps! other devices connected at 5 Ghz I regularly get speeds in excess of 200 Mbps and in all cases download speeds always exceed the upload speeds but not with this card. My advice is stay clear of this card it will disappoint you! Mine is sitting in it's box collecting dust.

I've had nothing but problems with this wireless adapter, the speeds are slower then any other device in my house by a considerable amount, and their website doesn't have any updated drivers for 2020, so I'm not able to fix any of the issues I'm having with this.
There was no physical damage done to the adapter and install was easy, it just plugged in and worked, but I will be looking for a new adapter, since I'm getting less then 0.20mbs a second compared to the 8.0mbs on everything else I tested my wifi speed on.
