Disconnects regularly, like 50 times per evening.
You have to press Connect again to get connected.
Virtually unusable, not happy at all.
Waste of money.

Do not attempt to download drivers from the Canadian TP-link website! Make sure you visit the US site. The instruction sheet doesn't mention this and it caused me a lot of issues and time wasted on the support line.
This will not be an issue if you have a working optical drive as a disk is provided with the adaptor.
Once installed, the adaptor appears to be working nicely.
Installed on a mid 2010 MacBook Pro.
In this day and age, I really feel like I need to bring this kind of irresponsible packaging to the attention of manufacturers/sellers/buyers. We have too much rubbish in our landfills and companies need to be sensitive in making their packaging. They all say that these are recyclable, but I have learned that a very small percentage of our recyclables actually get recycled. We just have to do our part in making sure that the products we use have less packaging.
Vendor includes drivers and setup on a CD - who the heck has a CD drive any more. Drivers can be found on this page along with some YouTube installation instructions. Follow the YouTube videos to complete the installation.
Using Speedtest.net - USB 2.0
Prior to installing the card my up speed (wired connection) was 25.6 Mbps and download speed was 61.6 Mbps.
Post installation up was almost the same at 25.2 Mbps but download speed increased to 83 Mbps
While the download speed increased it is hardly the 867 Mbps on the 5 GHZ band claimed by the vendor.
I decided to give this a 2-star because of the low price.
After about a half hour I retested the unit and download speed dropped to 40 Mbps even less than a wired connection.
As Dump would say send it back.
Holy sweet stable 5G networking! Rock solid and full speed with not a single disconnect so far. So satisfied. Just plug it in, place your drink on the included coaster in the box, go to the TP Link website and download the most recent driver. Windows will probably auto install one, but the website will be newer.
