Stable and decent for listening to music but choppy microphone performance
Reviewed in Australia on 25 April 2020
Researched for a while looking for something with decent sound quality for music that I could use for calls and video conferencing. At present I use Shure SE215 for music via a BT1 and BT2 Bluetooth cables. Not so good for calls due to mic performance. So I use my old Plantronics ML20 ($20) BT earpiece for calls and it works well. These Sound Liberty 79 seemed to have a strong emphasis on call performance and a number of positive reviews so gave them a try. After a couple of weeks my feedback is as follows:
- Good build quality, love the case
- Great fit for my ears
- Stable and decent sound for listening to music with great range
- Poor microphone performance on calls, choppy sound and I sound like Darth Vader sometimes. People say I sound very distant.
Tested across a range of devices, Surface Pro, Samsung S20, iPhone SE and Google Pixel in a quiet environment.
Hopefully, I've just got a defective unit do will reach out to Taotronics and Amazon for assistance. Will provide updates on Customer Service.
