Good value earbuds!

Out of the box, the TT SoundLiberty 79 was pretty impressive. The box feels premium and the earbuds themselves are sleek. The music sound quality is good. The microphone for calls is powerful and the person on the other side of the call was able to hear me clearly - except in windy conditions, which I can pass for now. Charging time is decent and comes with a usb-c charging port which is a nice touch. Fits well.

Perfect tiny portable case, unfortunate connectivity problems

I really loved the size of the case and the look of it was slick. the battery, microphone noise cancellation, price, and ear hooks. i really wanted to love these.
its a lot of effort to pair these things to another device compared to other tws
the connectivity is what made me return them though, three times during conference calls the audio just dropped out and as this is a common issue with online group calls so it took a while to figure out that it was just me, this has never happened with my other tws's so sadly i had to return them.

Greatest earbuds at this price

There was no problem to connect to my Android phone. The battery lasted long enough for my these days uses.
Three choices of ear tips, no doubt to find one which size is suitable for me.

Great All-Rounder !

If you are looking for a set of buds which offer a full package when it comes to sound quality, battery and features, this is the pick for you.

Pros:
-Great sound (decent sub-bass and fairly detailed with good details in highs and upper mids)
-Very good battery compared to other competitors in this price range
-Great touch controls (including volume controls)
-Decent mic (based on voice recordings)

Cons:
-None that I can think of except they hurt slightly when listening for hours , but I think that's mainly because of the shape of my ears.
-Some people complained of volume issues, but I think this has been fixed in the newer batch because I wasn't affected by this with this pair.

Sound:
These are smooth operators with a laid-back smooth bass, with a fairly fast sub-bass that is reasonably deep and well balanced with a punchy mid-bass. The bass does not affect the mids, with upper mids and highs slightly pushed forward allowing for decent detail without sillibance (laid-back smooth sound overall). Tldr-fairly well balanced with a smooth sub-bass to add a layer of excitement.

Features:
Overall the battery life , coupled with touch controls , especially volume control and compact charging case make these a very good deal overall.

Conclusion:
Decent sound with a versatile signature, acceptable mic and good battery allow these to tick the all the basics- long story short, I approve!

29 Nov UPDATE:
- Sound and soundstage is superb for the price - you really can't go wrong at all!
- The original flares and tips are ok but don't provide the best fit for me - the flares are just too small. So I ordered some replacement tips and flares for the Samsung ICON X 2018 buds ( I have and love these buds too! ) and using their biggest flare it actually fit quite nicely on the Tao's and honestly give me the PERFECT fit now with an even better seal that further improves the ANC and sound rendition!
- There is periodically an unsyncing of the buds which I have found you can solve by a long hold on the right bud - it tries to activate your assistant service which you can cancel but at least it sync them back up again immediately.

Price was good value I have to say.
Very light buds.
Sound is surprising good... clear, crisp... picks up a lot audio in songs that normally pass you by.
Solid and nice bass.
Connects quickly, and no sync issues yet.
Nice compact and very light case too.
Have tested the IPX8 rating a bit and no issues there.
Can't tell about battery life yet.
Taken them on a run and forgot they were there which is good... they felt secure but at the end of my run one bud was loosening up in my ears hence my comment below.

Dislikes:
The fit for my ears was a little uncomfortable at first.... think they could have given some better and more comfy tips and more/bigger flares also for a more secure fit... think I've gotten used to them more now, but we'll see going forward.
AptX would have been so great in this unit as well.

So a 7.5-8/10 for me... its worth a try if you are in the market and at this budget point.

EDIT Jan 2021 - Despite this review being months old, a representative from TaoTronics contacted me recently about my battery life issues to apologise and offered to replace my earbuds free of charge. I have not changed the content of my review as I still believe the battery life is lacking on this product, but I've increased the number of stars to reflect the excellent customer service I received.

I'm a big fan of TaoTronics - my TT-BH052's remain one of my favourite pair of buds. With the move to WFH I found I was using mine for hours every day, and so I thought I'd treat myself to an upgrade and grabbed the BH-079's.

Overall, I'm disappointed with the purchase; they're not awful, far from it, but if you need to use them for long periods of time I can't recommend them. The sound quality is fantastic, music was punchy and vibrant, and friends & colleagues noted I sounded clearer on calls, which is great. Problem is they'd frequently disconnect during calls, and on top of that there is no way I got 8 hours of use out of them - more like 4-5 hours tops of a mix of calls and music.

The biggest strength of the BH-052's was the fabulous charging case, you could honestly use them all week and never have to plug in to the wall. Again, I found the BH-079's lacking here - the case is slower to charge, and seems to go flat much quicker than my older set.

Overall, if you only need them for short stints and mostly for music, I think they'd be fine, but if you're going to be on the phone a lot or need to just be able to grab them and go, I'd probably steer clear.

Mature Product with Notably Excellent Connectivity and Top Quality

Notably surprised by its connectivity with iPhone. Once paired, the buds ( either single or twin mode) simply connect to paired phone automatically each time the case is opened. The connection is completed before they arrive your ear. This is much better than my other Bluetooth earphones for which I never know for sure if connected.

Transition between single- and twin-mode is fully automatic. All you need to do is open or close the case which seems to serve as an EM case switch.

Tap gestures (call/play/ volume control/Siri) are simple and work well with iPhone.

Product manual was professionally written and was easy to follow.

Battery lasts long enough to be complained about. Never stress tested yet as I simply put back to the self-charging case at night.

Sound quality is excellent and volume range is large enough.

Material and craftsmanship are a surprise as they have good ear ergonomics and as a whole feel very solid.

For the price, a total bargain to surprise in quality.

Good for music, bad for calls - Great customer service

It’s really good for watching movies and listening to music, with good quality sound, but really bad for phone calls. Nobody on the other side of the line can hear me, which is very annoying. If I’m wearing them and I receive a phone call, I have to take them off, place inside the case (because this is the only way to turn them off) and them answer the call holding my phone. People from the other side of the line say that it sounds like super windy and they can’t hear me well, even if I’m in a close and silent space. Although it has a good quality sound and long life battery, I’m very disappointed as I cannot use it for phone calls, which is one of the main reasons that I use earphones.

Updating: Taotronics got in contact with me to rectify the issues with my Liberty 79. Kiki, from their customer service, was very helpful asking for more details about the issue and sending a new device to my address, which was working very well and with excellent noise cancellation. I would like to congratulate the customer service for their promotion reply and care with their customers.

I like my old design but it was cost $120 so this one is only 1/2 price so I am happy with what I paid for. It came fulled-box and some extra cover stuff which I dont really need tho, but thats fine. The sound is great and its shape fixes my ears well. The thing I really like is its long battery life so I can use it for my daily running. I dont know because of its new or what, lets see.
